Hey folks....I'm sure this has been covered, but after a couple hours of searching and reading I still can't find it.

I bought a new spek 3500 micro receiver today and I'm having trouble with the binding proceedure as explained on the instruction sheet.

The instructions say insert the bind plug in to the battery/bind port marked B, then power up the receiver. If the bind plug is in the battery slot, how do you power it up for a nitro application?

I'm assuming the receiver pack will plug into slot A, but nothing on the instruction sheet tells me this and the drawings look to be for electric, showing plugs in the throttle and steering slots and the bind plug in slot B. I just want to be sure my assumption is correct before I do something which will allow release of the magic smoke from my new receiver.

Second, once the binding process is complete and the bind plug is removed, can I then plug a personal transponder into battery/bind slot B? If the answer is yes, should I power the system down before plugging in the transponder? If the answer is no, which slot should I Y off of so I can use a PT? In my pre spek FM days I had an issue with splitting power for a PT from either servo on a Novak XXL, whichever servo was shared would get hot. I solved that problem by splitting between my on/off switch and the receiver to get juice for the PT. Would that work with the 3500?

I've never had any problems with any of my other spek receivers since they all have a bind button and 3rd channel slot for my transponder, but I really don't need or want a $99.00 education on the proper way to hook everything up to my new receiver.

Oh and BTW, why can't we buy a case for a spek module?

I found that if you use the bind/batt spot for the PT the receicer would sometimes loose it's bind and you will have to re-bind it. For the PT use the ACC spot.

For nitro I think you may be able to use the Trottle port to power the rec. then bind it.

Plug the bind plug into the Bind port
Plug the receiver pack into any other open channel
Turn the switch on
The LED on the receiver will begin to flash
Place your radio or module into Bind mode
Vola, should be bound.

I always use the Bind port for my PT without any issue. The only time the receiver should go into bind is if the outside 2 pins are "shorted" as happens with the bind plug. As the PT only uses one of those two outside pins and the center pin, the receiver should never go into bind mode if you plug the PT in there. If you are having that issue I would suggest sending your receiver in to have it checked out.

Thanks Gary. I'll set it up tomorrow.

it's so bizarre hearing all these negative reviews. I empathize with everyone who has had a poor experience.

My experience with the DX3R has been perfect. No glitches, no lag time, no resets. Just pure, simple, interference-free running from day 1.

I'm running a newish B44 with a Novak GTB 6.5R + GTB speedcontrol, Hitec HRC36965S Digital Hi-torque/Hi-speed servo. I've had nothing but excellent results, increased response times, and ZERO glitches with the DX3R. I couldn't be happier. Hopefully, your experiences will begin to match mine.

Take care,

I set up the radio tray on my GT2 last night and had no problem binding my TX and RX. Smooth like butta. Plugged the rec pack into slot A and PT into slot B and all's well.

Thanks again Gary.

I kept my JR Z-1 in HRS when I ran my Pro module, worked well.

Ok ... I need help. I have used Spekrum in all of my cars/trucks in the past and now I am setting up my T2 008 with a mirco (3500) and I am having no luck. I followed the instructions to bind to my transmitter and after 20 attempts it still isn't binded. I made about 3-4 attempts with everything like it's going to the track. Then I unplugged the fan on the GTB thinking it might be interfering. No luck. Next I unplugged the PT. Still no luck. I then unplugged the steering servo. No go. I moved away from any cellphones, tvs or anything that might be causing a problem. No luck. I do have a fully charged battery, the bind plug is in the bind (B) slot. Nothing. I have never had this problem before so not sure what to do, but this is my first adventure with the micro receiver.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Mark w
