Thanks,

Mick

No, completely different technology

Jeff: I've found the lap counter buggy... It doesn't seem to reset the laps when I want to... I've been meaning to call Horizon about it, but since my local tracks finally got lap counting systems, I haven't needed it.

The RPM monitor is pretty interesting once you get it installed (and the rollout figured out). I have several cars, so I had to build a bunch of different mounting brackets for the sensor. Once installed, it seemed to work fine.

The temp feature seemed to be the most helpful for me...

Once I picked a car to install it on and just left it in there, I was all set.

I've been monitoring this forum for 8 months, and it doesn't seem that anyone really likes it much.... At least I haven't heard much chatter about it in the past 8 months...

Thanks RCGary. So what other radios on the market are capable of Spektrum and the ability to be converted for left hand use ? I am currently using the M8 and I know the M11 has the same capabilites.

Thanks for any info.

Mick

Currently only the M8 and M11 and I believe the older Futaba 3PJ could be configured for left or right hand usage too and it uses the same module as the 3PK. I don't know if the 3PK can be setup for left hand usage or not, but I think not. I know Ralph Burch uses a KO Propo Helios and is a lefty, but he had that radio designed specifically for him by KO.

you can setup the 3pk for left handed, it involves some work but can indeed be done....

I have my Telemetry all installed. I have the roll out calculation figured out thanks to NitroHigh seems to be giving back acurate readings so far as far as temp and voltage but Im off to the track to put it through hell I'll keep ya posted.

Thanks
Jeff

That is incorrect - The Sensor, at least, has a DSM-mode, where it will work with DSM receivers. Kind of pointless, unless you happen to have a toolbox full of DSM receivers.

hi
not sure if its been mentioned but recently my Dx3 has been playing up(changes trim) anyway i sent a message to horrizon hobbies and they gave me the impression it was the reciever that was playing up and not the controller. can anyone verify this?

Also can i run a pro series rx with the dx3

Thanks in advance

Yes, The DX 2/2.0 and 3/3.0 are compatible with the SR3000, SR3001, and SR3500 receivers. When using the SR3001 and the SR3500, you will get some latency improvement, but not the same as if you were using a Pro Series Module and a Pro Series receiver. You see 1/2 of the latency improvement.

I run electric TC, so I only use the lap counting and timing system. I have had the unit for a month, and have tested with it two times. The lap counting and timing unit seems to work well, the one thing I have noticed, is having the track module positioned correctly can make a difference in the performance of the unit. I have found that a little higher (say 12 inches) above the track is better than to low (say 8 inches) as far as the consistency of the readouts go. I am still working with the unit as far as storing old lap times and then getting new lap times and then storing those on top of the older lap times 9it seems the unit will erase the older lap times). The instructions say you can keep 99 laps stored, but I am not sure if that is from one run, or can be from multiple runs stored on top of each other. Will be trying again this weekend. Bottom line - for the money I feel it is a worth while investment, it is a great help to see how my setup changes effect my lap times.

i got a spektrum radio and it didnt work at first because it have a glitch in the radio. i took it back to my local hobby store and change it and it worked fine.

I've got an SR3000 reciever (light grey big one), and the antenna has snapped on it. Normally I'd open the case and replace it.......but I can't see where it needs to be resoldered.

Does anyone have a clear photo showing where the antenna is attached to the PCB?

Does anyone else get glitching from like street light tower things? We have a couple over our track, and when ever I drive past it Spektrum glitches and the wheels straighten then go back to full lock (it's in a corner) so basically the car just swerves mid corner. As long as I stay in close to the apex, it generally isnt too much of a problem, but if I go out wide the car gets effected and I have had it throw my car into the outside kurb because of it.

It's not too much of an issue, but I am interested to know if anyone else has had a similar issue and how they resolved it.
