I have a passion non sensored 1800kv i run in my ebuggy. 4s 5300. 18 pinion. Im new to the ebuggy game so im wondering what temperature is to hot. I did some test runs and it got up to 135. It ran perfectly fine. Is that to hot? This will be a racing application.
No. I'd be cautious at 160 after a five+ minute race. 180 and you run the risk of ruining your motor.

Default Nothiong but Issues!!!!!!

Ok so I bought a new SP 17.5T combo with LED program card. I really liked the price of the kit but I have to say I'm a little disappointed at this point. I have a Reventon S ESC (black), a 3.0 Stock Motor Series 17.5R motor and a Smart LED Program card. I bought this for my son's SC10 SCT and put it in and the thing is a total pooch. Really slow with gearing at 23-75 so I turned up the can timing all the way and went to a 22-75 gearing. Maybe a little better but not much. Way off of where my Reedy is in my truck. To the point where it won't make a lot of the gap jumps that mine makes with easily. So I figured I'd see what the settings were at, so I plugged in the LED card to the ESC and won't work. When I got home I downloaded the Software and updated the program card. It goes threw and says it was successful. So I read the directions about 5 times. Did some reading on this thread, Checked all the wiring 5 more times, Disconnected the motor ABC, nothing. Disconnected the Sensor wire, nothing. Guess what I'm getting at is I've tried just about everything I can imagine and then some and cannot get this card to work with the ESC or Get it to connect to the PC. I've got my fingers crossed that some one here can help!

Oh and I'm trying to register on the Speed Passion web site so I can register my products and that won't work either! I tried 10 different user names and they all say they are invalid! Grrrrrrrr!

Thanks in advance

I really don't know what's going on with their website. It's full of Viagra spam and no one seems to care. If that is any indicator of how the company is being run, I don't think that SP has much of a future. Even their US reps don't seem to be as enthusiastic as they used to be about promoting and supporting their products.

When you say you are getting nothing when connected to the car are you saying it's not reading anything?

A few things to check:

1. When connecting just the programming card is your battery source connected?

2. Are you plugged into the right port on the programming card? It should be the center one. I have heard from customers having similar issues they did not peel back the thin red decal on the side completely to reveal the center port. Also make sure you are correctly hooking up the neg/positive/neutral on the RX and programming card.

3. If you are connecting to the PC make sure your battery source is NOT plugged in.

4. Check to make sure the Speed Passion drivers installed properly. Do a reboot of the PC and connect again.

--

For performance, are you running a red timing board in the motor? I believe that is stock in the V3.0 17.5. You can try a green board with the timing port in about the middle. In buggy, most guys are running the red board maxed timing on the can. In SC I saw guys liking the green a bit more. Also you can max out the DRRS to 9 if traction is solid.

Make sure to calibrate the TX to the ESC to insure you are getting full throttle and brakes.

I downloaded the software(zip) file to my computer so I can change between stock and Mod profiles. But when installing the program driver I get an error.
'Cannot find "setup.ini" needed to run the driver installer'

I see a "setup.ini" in the zip folder but the driver wont install.

Ideas?

Did you use the old speed passion.net site or the newer shop.speedpowerrc.com site?

Its odd you can't get on. Tried today and had no problem.
Went to the download page also with no trouble. That is where you will find the files
you need to download and instructions on how to accomplish these tasks.
Good luck.

I always purchase my motors and esc through Speed Passions Facebook page.
SpeedPower and use the USA EShop. I will admit SP has terrible Customer Service and takes forever to get things returned. I have always been able to purchase more then I need then when something goes bad I just replace it with my stock and send in the bad part.

I am trying to update my Reventon pro for blinky mode. Is the stock0 firmware a part of this "Speed Passion Reventon PC Interface V1.1.0.25" program? Or is that a separate download? I am new to the whole updating ESC's and am kind of confused. Do I plug my programming box into my computer, and the ESC at the same time?

Once you install the Reventon software on your computer, plug the program box into your USB and connect ESC to to program box. Once everything is connected there will be a box on the left hand side that says update firmware, click that and it will bring up a dropdown box with all of the available options. For blinky select STOCK0 and you should be done.

Ok thanks...
So I downloaded the reventon pc interface, connected the program card to my pc, and then to the esc with the battery plugged in, and tried without the battery plugged in..but it seems as if the computer is not recognizing it:.once I open the program there is a little pink box that says please connect to the ESC even though it is already connected? Any thoughts? Sorry I'm being a burden but this seems more complicated than it needs to be
