Speed Passion Thread

I just finished a new stadium truck kit and had all my electronic installed except the servo, so I turned the Reventon on so I could center the Servo before installing it and noticed a spark on the ESC between the orange and yellow motor wires and within a few seconds purple smoke started pouring out the ESC, before I could hit the off button or disconnect the battery. apparently whoever soldered the motor wires to the ESC at Speed Passion accidentally let solder connect the orange motor wire to the yellow motor wire which created a short on the ESC. So the brand new ESC is ruined and also I now have a partially melted stadium truck chassis before I ever even got to run it. Pictures of the damage are attached. [IMG]

Hi peeps i need some help, i have a reventon pro in my 22-4 and the buggy only runs for 4 minutes at full throttle and then dies as if the battery is dead and the buggy goes real slow exactly like the battery was dead so to test the battery i put it in another buggy and it still has plenty of punch, and i can easily get another 10 minutes of run time out off the same battery in another buggy, I'm running a 6.5t motor and i have the voltage cut off disabled. Any advise would be great.

just a thought - try putting low voltage cutoff on.
I've never seen this problem.

Have just bought 2 Pro's to go in a BMax 4 III and a RC10 Worlds rere. I'm running these with 10.5t motors in each.
Can someone explain Percentage Braking ABS and Initial Braking Force? Think I've got both on 100% ABS and 60% Initial Force (think this is max for both). The BMax feels OK but think the braking force is too much for the RC10 - just feels like an on/off switch.
Also, does anyone use drag brake?

Wondering if anyone know why or have this happen before. I drove the buggy yesterday everything was perfectly fine. Today I turned it on and no throttle. Checked all the wiring it was fine. Changed sensor wires. No change. Redid the calibration and then it worked fine. Never had that happen before. Been using sp Speedo's for years no issues ever. Could be a sign of a failing Speedo.

Im done trying to save money with these cheap SP and Hobbywing electronics. Im just going to order a decent system from Novak, Tekin or Trakpower and be done with it.

Curious if anyone else is getting any sort of Thermal issues?
Was helping a fellow racer running SP.
His car (Schumi K1 running Mod on carpet). His car would shut down after about 3 min run. Initially the LVC was set to High, or so he thought. I brought a prog. box and we adjusted it down to NO LVC, and in the next race, it again stopped. He ran back to his pit, powered it off and on, and it ran fine.
When we temped it after the race, ESC, W/ the Fan was coming off at over 140.
The motor (the new V4) came off well over 160.
I remember Olorosky (sp) having trouble at an EOS that his ESC was turning off.
Anyone know if its a software glitch or possible signal loss with a receiver causing troubles?
My Pro 1.1 all seem to run around 120-140 and motors around 120.

Most guys, including myself, will race with voltage and heat disable. At EOS it was not an ESC issue. From what I was told it was the battery.
