The cap on the ESC is for voltage spikes and to help with punch and heat generated by the ESC. The cap for you receiver is completely different and serves a whole other purpose. You need the cap on the ESC.

Just tried out my b44.2 with speed passion 6.5t!! Running turnigy trackstar 120a turbo esc with 19 tooth pinion!! First run going good the car stopped! Took it to the pit and motor was super hot even seen smoke rolling off while the esc was very cool!! Dropped pinion down a couple teeth and let motor cool then put some more laps down!! And instantly motor was too hot to touch!! So my ? Is my motor toast or am I completely over looking something??? 19 tooth should be proper for this since I have done hours worth of homework on everything I equipped in this car!!

Hi, I just got a speed passion v3 17.5 and put it in my b4.1 2wd buggy... I also run a tekin rs pro esc. I was wondering what timing/boost on the tekin esc should I use with the factory endbell timing on the speed passion motor to produce best results? I know all tracks a different this one is a medium track stock buggy guys running 21-24 sec lap times for reference. Thanks so much in advance. Also gearing right now is 26/72 but have 33/69 on standby

Hey guys, I have got to say something. The new V4 motors are awesome. I am running one in my 2wd buggy with a Reventon "R", on Stock 1 profile with a 8.5. It's a bullet! You won't be disappointed.

Good luck ever trying to contact technical support!!! After 3 minutes of being on hold it sends you to an answering machine!!! Never in my life of being on hold have I been sent to an answering machine!!! Left them a message to call me back but when will that be??? Whatever happened to staying on hold until you could actually talk to someone "first call first serve style" So pissed with speed passion first time on the track and my motor fries and now I have to leave a message and hope to the rc gods they even return my call!!! By the time they do call back even if they do I will already have ordered a new motor!!! And I tell you this it won't be a speed passion motor!!!!!!

I understand your frustration, but I think anyone here can tell you they've had stuff go bad out the box. I had a LRP speedo, a motor, and Futaba speedo go bad right out package. Had a Hitec charger go bad as well after little use. The speedo was taken care of through Horizon, the motor no luck through LRP. Hitec was out of warr and Futaba took a month to get back in the day. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of these brands now. I use 2 Hitec chargers now.
