If your getting the F and R light alternating -- its a high amp spike error. As bds said it could come from the battery plug moving (causing a small arc), it could also be the sensor in the motor. Its easy to forget that little circuit board takes quite a bit of abuse in side the motor. Along with sensor wire - those would be the big things to check.

Thanks nikos!

Legendary service! Just have to say, love the VTX8 ... prefer it to the RX8 that I had. And the VTX10R-BE hasn't hit the track yet but love it to! Its either the speedo or the motor (D3.5) but it's butter smooth!

Let us know what you think -- your reasoning is valid, look for little RPM difference as well ..... :sneaky::D

Truggy it is

Tekin technically doesn't want there buggy motors used in truggies anyways and the Tekin paperweight I now have sitting here as the ET48 chassis doesn't give enough room for my Viper VTX8 and Tekin 2000kv Truggy motor without bumping the sensor wire will probably get some lovin in Kyosho's new FO-XX VE, with some viper loving too :)

Probably a sign the truggy just wants all Viper goodness.

Will sit down I think today or tomorrow and give it a go installing it.

Nike one more servo question here, would I be better off with a high voltage servo compared to a LV servo. I'm no electrical engineer but when you run a higher voltage doesnt that mean less amp draw which should equate to less heat which we all know is good for electronics. So if I would turn my bec up to 7volton the vtx8 would thatbe better than running it at 6v. Unless there is something different with servos. Thanks

anyone here use viper gear for crawling?

reason I ask is that I figure the sensored setup would probably be perfect for it. been toying with the idea of getting one, or, getting that new Kyosho Fo-XX and another VTX8 to drop in :)

Yes, and i recently saw they did some crawler specific options like 100% drag brake to hold the truck when off power

Cool!

Are there any ESCs from the viper line recommended to use for say the common Axial SCX-10, etc.?

Thinking waterproof a must, so the older VTX10R esc possibly.

nikos2002 10-09-2014 04:39 PM

All Viper speed controls have the option to choose 100% drag brake -- they have for 4 years.

Also the VTX10R orange and black editions, and VTX8 are all waterproof with the circuit boards covered in epoxy when placed inside the aluminum case.

Don't forget the new Xpert WR - waterproof servos -- available now.

Cain 10-09-2014 05:27 PM

ah okay. well heck then I may just use the ESC I have sitting here as I was concerned it wasn't waterproof. VT10R-BE Edition

Thanx

I'm pretty sure I know the answer but going to ask anyways. Is it possible to run the orange vtx10 in a 4wd buggy with a 6.5? I have a r10 trying to fit in a dex410 but I can't get it to fit right because of the size

Cain 10-14-2014 09:41 AM

from what it sounds like, you want the R edition, but I do wonder with proper caps and a fan maybe?
