So my VF8 casing split this weekend. I submitted an RMA earlier in this week, just been chaotic here and I haven't shipped it yet. I talked to a Viper team driver today, and from the sounds of it you guys are looking to address this issue? Can you share any insight into what the update(s) might be?
Also about my RMA, I'd rather not just send my motor in now and get the same old style back, if there's going to be an update. I'd rather have the new version if that's the case. Can I get issued a credit? |

Its already been addressed. We have heard or received 8 motors that have had the issue from all that were sold. The latest batch we received from the factory yesterday have gone through different build and quality control processes to verify operation. We have sold hundreds of motors and only a small percentage of had an issue.
|
to build on that, do the online shops have the latest batch too and how can we tell if the motor is that type?
|
The have been selling so fast, the new batches are going to be the ones available from us and on-line retailers. We can't keep them in stock, they have been selling so well.

I am having trouble with radio calibration (Upper right corner of manual) with a VTX10 8.5 combo. Here is what I am doing:
1) Connect charged LIPO 2) Turn on Tx with fresh settings 3) Press and hold red button for 3 seconds... This is where the wheels fall off. I do not get a beep tone like the manual says I should, I get a single red light. Also, if I hold the red button for three seconds I do not power off as normal, I might be in programming mode? 4)Full throttle - press button to no effect, no beep 5) Full brake - press button to no effect, no beep 6)Will not power off besides unplugging battery (as described above in comments to step three) I would appreciate some guidance. |
You don't turn on the esc first. You hold the button for 3 seconds while the esc is off. Then it will calibrate.
|
Maybe this will help.

Thanks for the video, I can more accurately describe what is happening.
After I hold down the red button, the P lights up, but the red light and the green light in the top right never appear... this includes holding it down for far longer than in the video. |
I moved onto changing all my shock oils tonight. I'm still looking for an answer to the two lights not popping up on calibration. I'd run it tomorrow if someone knows what is going on.

Just asking, is your receiver bound to your radio?

Any way you can shoot a video showing what going on?
Is your throttle in normal mode, not reversed? After turning on your radio, are you holding down the power button on the ESC until it makes the 2 tone beep to program? |
And the esc must be off 1st when you hold down the power button to enter programming mode.

My throttle is in normal mode, I might try running it in reversed to see if that fixes anything, but it is giving me problems even getting to the beeps, not with the calibration itself. My problem is that when I hold down the power button on the ESC, I never get to those 2 tone beeps. |

I'll have to look up how to upload a video. (to the internet in general, I've never done that before.)
