are there any issues using viper ESCs with the Speed passion line of 1/10 scale motors?
Figure I would ask as I know sometimes some ESCs have issues with some motors, so wanted to confirm.
Same question with Schurr Speed motors.

i am about to pull the trigger on a new motor for my ebuggy,
i've been using tekin 1900 for the last 2 seasons but i am looking for an alternative for this season. i am happy with the tekin but since our locak track is harsh, it only lasts 1 season before starting problems about the rotor or the front bearing etc. i am looking for a more reliable motor that lasts at least 2 seasons without hassle.
i've been searching most of the popular motors, tenshock, trinity, reedy etc.
They all have their own pros and cons. and i am very into your new VF8 motors but it's impossible to find usable detailed information about these motors. Race results with your pilots and test drivers doesnt mean anything to me. (and also my type of users) All i can learn from them is how the feel of the motors are.
Could you please at least tell us the bearing sizes, wound type, turns, some estimated power ratings and also some pictures of the internals that shows the rotor, how the front bearing house was built into the front cover. i am sure there are alotof customers around the world digging the internet to find some technical information about your new motors.
i would be greatful at least
Thank you!

I've been running one of the test VF8's 1900KVs in my buggy. Been almost a year now. Ran it all summer long outdoors. 110+ degree weather on dry dusty tracks. The motor never would overheat on me (even though I tried several times just for testing purposes). It was 100+ at the Futaba Nitro Challenge with like 175% humidity (seriously it was just nasty outside) and I still couldn't get it over 180. Still on the same set of bearings. It's a tough motor. It's a very smooth motor. Like a good combo of bottom and top end. With other motors that I ran it always seemed like one brand had tons of torque but lacking top end, or the other way around. I think you'll like it. I don't know the bearing sizes off the top of my head, but I'm sure Nick can fill in that info.

what is considered the highest power 1/10 ESC from Viper right now?
I am thinking of trying one of the 1/10 ESCs in potentially a 1/10 2wd buggy, ST, or SCT. I currently use the 1/10 Speed Passion GT2.0 Pros in vehicles like this and have been quite happy with them, but as I am enjoying my Viper VTX8, figure why not keep it all in the family at least for offroad? (running VTA in onroad, so need no timing ESC, one day viper you can help there?
)

The Black edition is what I would considered the most powerful, high end model of ESC. The entire line is all extremely top of the line. If you are wanting to go with a hot motor like a 6.5 in a 4wd buggy you'd wanna go with the R series, like the VTX10R Black Edition. I personally run the orange VTX10 in my 2wd mod buggy. When Hot Bodies releases the D413 I'll be dropping a VTX10R in it. And the entire VTX10 line comes with blinky mode. So they'd work nicely in that VTA car too.

Cain, I run several of the BE escs (2 of the 10r and one 10). Got the 10 to use in my B4.2 since it's a little smaller and lighter than the 10r. As impressed as I am with my VTX8, I'm equally impressed with these 1/10 scale escs. First thing, they're full aluminum cases and built to take a whoopin. The caps connected by leads don't bother me at all. Decent amount of wire so wasn't hard to find a nice spot to put them. Super, super smooth performance! If you love your VTX8, you can't go wrong with these (BE or orange models). Unless I'm mistaken, I believe the orange models are waterproof?
