The reason I think its the esc is because the proguage and the ez link's work fine on another vtx8. I was able to get another drivers ez link to work a few weeks again when i was having problems but he wasn't there yesterday. Part of the problem then also was that I didn't have it programmed to neutral and the transmitter settings at 100%. I made sure it was right this time though.

I'm going to send it back to viper monday. I hoping whatever is wrong is not too hard to fix.
Just to be double safe I would send in the ezlink as well. I'm sure they will get it fixed for you

Hey guys !

I am fairly new to the hobby and I always bought my cars with pre-installed electronics.
I would like to stick to one brand for all my cars, and I think I settled on Viper after hearing some great things about their products.

I am fairly lost though between the different types of ESC.
I got an E-revo that I will hook up with the VTX8 which I think is the correct option.

But I got a Losi SCTE 2.0, and I will buy a 2wd Buggy pretty soon and don't know what to get for those cars??

VTX10, VTX10R, VTX10R-BE ??
What about the Copperhead?
The copperhead combo looks great, but I read about a VF4 motor coming soon, what would it have better than the VX4R?

I would like to be able to run 3S Lipos and I would also like an ESC that doesn't require an external BEC.
And finally, is it easy to waterproof Viper ESC's ?

Thanks so much for any informations!

For the scte you want a vtx8. They can handle the power a 4x4 can consume. A 4x4 with a 4 pole motor on 2s is plenty fast, u probably don't need 3s. For a buggy get a vtx10 be. I like the black editions.

I am not sure on the erevo. It depends on what motor u are going to use with it

Ok iv had the VTX8 and the VF2100 in my Mugen X7 eco and so far its a great combo. Still learning the finer things with the esc but so far so good. Im running indoors up at South Jersery and with the help from Bob Berry the car is running great.
I cant wait till Motorama next month.

That's because the Viper stuff rocks!

I would do the VTX8 for both of these. I've got a VTX8 in my SCTE and it works awesome. VERY tough, super strong BEC, built like a gold ingot...

VTX10, VTX10R, VTX10R-BE ??

The Copperhead systems are all sensorless. That means that the system doesn't start from a stop as smoothly as a sensored system. That being said, I have heard that the Copperheads are pretty much as smooth as it gets for a sensorless setup. Get a VTX10 either orange edition for a combo or the black edition for the 2wd buggy. I've got these in a bunch of my cars (SCB, SC10, DEX410) and love them.

I would like to be able to run 3S Lipos and I would also like an ESC that doesn't require an external BEC.

3S will be feasible in the SCTE and eREVO and the VTX8 will easily handle it. 3S in a 2wd buggy...not so much. You won't need an external BEC in any of these. Waterproof...are you looking to submerge or just splash them periodically?

You will be fine with any of the VTX10 lineup on this car. The VTX 10 can handle down to a 7.5 motor where as the R and BE(black Edition) can handle below a 6.5. They are all fully adjustable with the same program box. I run the VTX10 in both my 2wd and 4wd Durango cars. As for the 4wd SCTE you will want the VTX8.

Thanks so much for the informations guys

I'll go with a VTX8 for the SCTE then !
As far as waterproof goes, I won't submerge them but if they could be a little splash resistant it would be great ! I have to say I would love running my e-revo in the snow but that might be a bit complicated ?

I haven't made my mind if I want to get a 1/10 or 1/8 Buggy as my next car, but if I do, I haven't heard too much about Viper's motors, is it something I should consider?
If I would get a Tekno EB48 with a VTX8, what motors would you suggest?

Thanks !!

We just released these, and they are AMAZING. http://www.viper-rc.com/vf8.html

Buy one here. http://www.shopviperrc.com/ProductDe...-above-for-VF8

Definitely the motor for that car if you get one. Paired with a VTX8 you'll be covered, all that's left is that driving part. Details, details...

Default VTX8

When I calibrate my ESC should I have the EPA at 100 or 100% which is 150 in my KO radio?

Whatever 100% is Eagle. Want to have throttle EPA's and trim at stock settings at calibration.

I always do it at 100%

Are you racing with the radio at 150%?
