Quick questions: VTX8
1. Why does profile 1 not work on it?
2. How many pre-loaded profiles are there?
3. What are the differences in each profile?

0. look at the manual. pg3. http://www.viper-rc.com/downloads/VT...l_20130403.pdf
1. Wrong setup for the profile.
2. 8. 4 are setup. 3 are empty. 1 is practice. see 0.
3. see 0.

VF4 when? What sizes?
VF8 when?

1. Profile 1 on vtx8 is for 4s battery, if using 2s voltage is below cut off.

Silvalis- got the other 2

VF motors? Soon, hope to have more details this week. Sizes - VF8=1900, 2100, 2700 and VF4= 4000, 4500

how does the viper 17.5 stack up to the the trinity killshot 17.5 or d3.5 maxzilla

nikos2002 11-03-2013 12:39 AM

It can't be compared to the last one you mentioned, that was not made to same rules.

Out 17.5 is more torque than rpm based. On longer tracks or on road it won't have the rpm as others, but off road and smaller tracks it's good. Motor is quite durable compared to some on the market.

84 GT 5.0 11-03-2013 12:49 AM

so on an on road track with 70x120 dimensions I would be better off sticking to my vtx10r and a killshot 17.5 instead of the viper 17.5

What is a normal temp for the esc and motor in a 4wd buggy?

I think the same fundamentals apply as to any car but I do find that my ESC gets hotter in my 4wd than it did in 2wd buggy or 2wd SCT. I think it has to do with the increased braking....well for me anyway.

I still set my limits at the same place and haven't hit them. 230 ESC and nothing on the motor (but monitor it to keep can temps below 160).

silvalis 11-03-2013 05:21 AM

i'd say 55C esc, 70 motor @ 29 Ambient

tony montana 11-03-2013 05:34 AM

mine were roughly 145 both on the esc and motor, so I guess that is ok. But feeling to the touch they were hot compared to my 2wd buggy

Right...that's similar to where I was...couldn't believe how hot the ESC was as I had never experienced it in my 2wd cars. But when temped it wasn't out of control.
