rule of thumb a lot of people use is 160 on the motor at the end of a run.

OMG- I would gear up one tooth, make sure vent holes were on both sides of the body to let air flow through. And if you run on a loose dirt track reduce Punch 10 points to help avoid wheelspin.
crusher- GOC - gave you a good answer there. I would only add to not run longer than the length of your races.

OK thanks the motor was at 110 degrees on a big 8th scale track and a cool day. I had it geared at 15/54 with my TRCE Slash and want just a little more top end speed so I'm going to go to 15/52 and keep an eye on the temps so it doesn't go over 160. I don't have a progauge so I just set it at preset 4 because that seems to give me the best feel.

Gus, the R45 is a great choice for a lot of different track sizes. The R51 needs some space to open its legs and really run. I might even think about starting at 12 - always easier to go up if you need more than run too hot, too soon. Always watch temps when you start with a new set up!!

Have now run my vtx 10B 4 times in the above class
Very pleased but I am finding the brakes very poor.
Motor = 17.5 tekin almost full timing
FDR =3.2
Handset M11x
I have the pro gauge but not the pc lead
Any help / advice would be great
A55 Firmware
Brake strength 100%. (Sorry I suppose this would have helped lol)

List your firmware and settings please so we can assist. You can get all of that from Pro Guage.

If you don't a reply, send one of us a PM (me, Nick, or any other team driver). It is getting close to race day so we tend to be away from the thread a little more.
