sevet, are you using performance or having a temp cut off? PM me more details so we can see about figuring it out.
omg- what are aarrmc rules?? And yes, we manufacture our speed controls ourselves out our own facility. Everything from building the boards to cutting the metal, even laser inscription on the esc's and motors.
Wildcat- yes if your servo can take it the esc can dish it out!! Gearing sounds like the ball park I have run before. Depends on track and traction as well.

And yeah, the esc feels well built, glad to hear they are made in the USA. Seems like nothing is made here anymore.

Great Customer Service Viper!!! Keep up the good work!
I sent in my vtx10r b/c I toasted the BEC (not sure how) and they sent me back a new one pronto.
Which leads to my question. I'd like to run the esc w/ an external bec. Typically this is done by removing the red wire from the esc to the receiver. Is that how it works for the Vipers as well?

iMarky, that's impressive. Haven't seen that happen in 2 years (without trying). Let me contact the home office, don't we stock just that plate.
techpro- that's a good ballpark to start - adjust Punch, drag brake and brakes to your liking. Start with throttle freq about 16k, have fun!!
About the manufacturing. All the products are made by our company, in facilities in Tawain. Our offices here in the US are in Redmond Washington and CA. We get and develop here, but the products are made there.

Yeah, not uncommon. So you have a factory in taiwan? or contract out? Just curious. I didnt know you guys were big enough to open your own plant in taiwan. I have been away from the hobby for a few years.

Doesn't have to be big. Efficient, innovative -- YES

I actually get to congratulate myself-- for a good run at Crispy Critters Fall Brawl 2 yesterday.
Qualified 4th and finished 2nd in Pro2 (SC Mod to others). The VTX10/VST10.5 was cruzing yesterday, especially after I put on JConcepts 3D's - turned the punch down a little to keep from pulling wheelies!!

viper is releasing a new esc. I would wait for it. It is more geared towards the heavier car/trucks with big motor. It is called the vtx8 I think. The vtx10r might suit your needs, but the vtx8 would be better imo.

if you are wanting to run sensorless then the copper head should work

I have one in my sons SCTE and love it. It pulls strong, never gets hot, and with the 4500, he is one of only a few 4x4 trucks to clear a huge double that usually is only able to be cleared by the fastest e buggies. I do want to look at the RTX8, but, for the money, the copperhead is a great system.
