Tony - what is "a certain amount of time" That leaves it open for many variables - 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 seconds, everytime you hit the gas..

PM me and let me know we will help you figure it out.

Hi guys,

Installed my vtx10r and ran it today in my 4wd buggy...haven't played with any settings but set it on profile 2 and was happy with how smooth it ran...feels a nice unit!

One question, what sort of temps should I be seeing from the esc after 5 minutes? As some finals now run to 10 it's tricky to tell if you are in ballpark sometimes!

Hey guys, just an update, loving my two vtx10 B.E escs. Going great and prefer them over my old tekin . I just want to give some feedback on what I reckon would make these the best escs on the market if you put these into the next software update. Everything about throttle is great and I wouldn't change a thing but the brakes don't seem to have enough consistency/strength.... Idk why but it just does. Also I think that having a more accurate temp cutoff would be great. I don't run my motor cutoff because I set it at 220 degrees once and it shuts off at around 120. And last but not least I reckon it would be cool if you could put that feature in that hobbywing has where if you hold brake for 10 seconds it shuts down.
But other then that this was the best thing I ever bought in the hobby, I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other escs. Thanks viper for being a great brand
WILL OUT!

Guys, one other thing before I run the vtx8...I have a Thunderpower motor for 8th, which has adjustable timing on the motor itself. Is that going to play havoc with the esc? I had one brands esc which shall remain nameless which didn't appear to be able to cope with motor timing!?

I would assume the price of the caps, and return shipping. what caps do you have on the esc currently?

That doesn't seem right. When I had my motor temp setting at 220 it did shut off a couple of times (rare circumstances) but then the can temp was around 175.

Yeah, that would be a nice feature! But if implemented the time should be a user setting and not fix.

when I set my temp cutoff at 200, mine will shut down when the motor is at 140 ish, I set my ESC at 220, and my motor at like 240 or 250. i'd hate to disable the cutoff, and at around 250 internal, it should be around 180 to 200, which is Never a good place to be at.

I think the 'Holeshot launch' feature has you hold full brake, and gives you more power from launch.

I run my motor temp cut off at 200 and mine never shut down. My external temps get to 140 or a bit over everytime. I am using a viper vst motor also.

what software are you using? I think to run the BE caps, you need A55.

with mine, 140 was right about where the cutoff kicked in with it set at 200. You should be okay with it set at 220, just in case you run an 8 min main or something.
