For whatever reason, I am now doing fine with a 21t pinion and lotsa boost and no timing (little turbo). 114 degrees after qualifier.

Trying to set up my xxx-sct with a 13.5 and MMP. Stock gearing with a 24 tooth pinion. The motor arrived set at 30 degrees, where should I set the boost at? The track I will be running at only has one long straight and is high traction.

Picked up a 17.5 from A main earlier this week. Ran it at a trophy race today at Proving grounds. Had enough torque to do the double right out of a corner taking a tight line. Only one in sc stock that could take that line and clear the doubles! finished 2nd in the A. Ordered a couple of more tonight!;)

Viper items I received on Thursday..

This weekend was the 2nd round of the jconcepts super cup. Biggest super cup race to date with 186 entries. I used the vtrax 10 with the viper 17.5 brushless motor. The car felt sooo slow, The computor however said otherwise. This set-up was sooo smooth that the car felt slow. I TQ"ed and easily walked away with the WIN. I only had this set-up for 2 days. I also ran mod and finished 7th overall. At one point I lead a few laps, in a class that has some worlds qualifiers in, using a 13.5 and the vtrax10!!!! Looking forward to the 2011 race season.

I ran my VST 17.5 for the first time today. As Reuben stated previously, they deliver very smooth/linear power throughout the entire powerband(the VST motors). I ran the motor paired with a RS in a friends X-factory car and it had plenty of short run-up torque to make a BIG jump in the middle....I cranked the external timing on motor ring as we are running a no-boost/timing rule. I feel like it will only get better once I find the right gearing setup for my new car, temps never made it past 112°, therefore I can get much more power and speed out of the motor.....these thing's are super sweet motors, wonderful packaging and great customer/team support.....I'm so happy with my switch to Viper motors, I look forward to more time with them and the V-trax10, big thanks to Mike Garrison for giving me the pleasure of running these wonderful motors.
