well im kind of embarrassed by the question i need to ask but i need to know to make sure im doing it right. my 5.0 L came and i have it bolted up into the ft 4x4 im building. this is my first 550 can and my first 32 pitch gear. what mesh do i do? i was trying to make it rock like i do on my 2wd buggy and 2wd sct. and i kind of was scratching my head while looking at the little gap i was creating but it didnt seem to want to rock.

i think i solved it. im getting a little rock motion in it now.
did a run with my novak havoc pro sc (non x drive) 7 minutes i hit 160. im gonna drop from a 14 to a 13 and test when it cools down.

Are all the kinks worked out on the VTX10R? I had one of the first production release esc's and had to send it in twice due to an fet board failure. The 3rd esc I received, I ended up selling but I'm thinking about giving the VTX10R another shot.

How well do they hold up to sensored 4 pole motors? Is the new fan kit a necessity for this setup?

I run one in a losi scte with the viper 4.5 turn 550 can and haven't had a single issue, this is on a large 1/8th scale size track and I'm a pretty agressive driver...If by 4 pole your referring to the teking pro 540 can motors specifically for 4wd sct trucks then basically that's a small 1/8th scale motor and it's not recommended.

dropped it to a 13 and ran it for 6 minutes and temped it at 135. this is on street with street tires with a lot of straight passes with a bunch of hard braking at the end of the street. should be comfy for me in temp range on the track. next pay day ill be looking at a different speed control so i can play with esc ranges.

Bolisario- As with anything new there were teething issues, but we have worked into a pretty reliable unit and are always finding new things to work on

rcq - the 5.0L fits in the the AE SC10 4wd with no modification. It should run well, even on bigger tracks. You can fit the XL motor in with some slight dremeling to the chassis (it does not weaken the chassis). The VTX1 is unlimited in 1s use, but with 2s I wouldnt go below 6.5. It also has a lower SBEC setting because of normal operation with more powerful level of battery.

ronsand- still in development. There are multiple development projects going on at one time. We should have some updates to make public in a few weeks. They won't get here fast enough with the amount of questions I have been getting.

Happy Easter to my extended family my Viper Teammates and all the Viper supporters out there. We're very lucky in the Northeast to have the support of Nick and the Viper Team and I couldn't be any happier with the way things are progressing for such a great group of people and a top notch Company.
Happy Easter everyone, I hope you all have a great day and get some quality time with your family and friends today.
I'll see ya at the Track

Hey Nick, the big "Anniversary" Race at RCHR is this coming Saturday, you going to be able to make it down? Let me know and I'll make sure to reserve you a prime pit space my friend!

Will the 10R power the other brand's 4 pole 4600kv motor reliably(using the fan kit of course)?

I'll pull my setup sheet out of my bag and let you know what I run when I take it out of Blinky mode. I usually leave the stock Blinky profile on in my Stadium Truck, but with the 10.5 in 4wd I run a little different setup

Anybody have any gearing advise for the 5150 4 pole combo in a sc10 4x4?

Sure will. I let a buddy borrow a 10r to try some things with a Tekin 4 pole, he tested from 3300 to the 4600 with it. I'm still trying to get my 10r back from him

I myself shoot for around 160 but I'm sure 180 is fine if you need the extra power.

Happy Easter everyone.

Thanks Joe, and yes, the plans are to be up their for the Anniversary race. Probably running 2wd and 4wd SC. Thanks for holding a spot.

I ran 13 with the 5150 and 14 with the 4600 Copperheads at two different tracks both worked well on my SC10 4wd. I try and stay under 150 unless there is something on the line (big race). You can push it, as long as you accept what will happen if you do. And I don't like to do run after run or a long run at 150, if possible.
