Not saying Tekin was bad but for half the price the copperhead system is just as competitive in my opinion. Once it's on the track you cant even tell its a unsensored system so I would try it before worrying about having a sensored setup.

well the reason i asked is bcos i have a couple of sensored system(vtx) for my trucks and i m looking for flexibility here, being able to switch esc/motor and stuffs but the attractive pricing of the copperheads i just cant overlook:)
(had the RX8, it was able to run both type motors, not sure abt other systems)
thanx guys for clearing things up:nod:

For the 4x4 slash, the 4500 is ideal for bashing or racing. If you want to go really fast, get the 5150.

I am thinking about giving the Copperhead 4500KV system a try in my SC10 4x4. I have always been a fan of sensored motors but it seems like these may have a chance to change my mind.

It is a smooth system for un-censored. It is a bad*** little system

Well i just ordered a copperhead 5150 combo to try in my scte. Have been runnin mmp/ 4600 tenshock and its been good. I tend to try the different stuff as most everyone i race w/ runs rx8/pro4 combos. I am one of the faster guys at the track and get asked alot about my setups so i hope this system is as good as u all make it out to be and i will be selling a few more of these for u lol......i would b up for testing any 1/8E buggy products u may have in the works as well ;)

If anyone has any suggestions on gearing with the 4600 in an SC10 4x4 I would appreciate it.

This whole SCT thing is pretty new to me. :o

Start with 14 tooth pinion and stock spur. Check temps and adjust for track size and ambient temps. Do not rely on the "touch method"; get a decent quality temp gauge and check at 5 min. intervals.

Thanks for the input. I will order a couple other sizes as well.

Would the 5150kv be good for a Losi scte? I'm hearing a lot of good things about this system. Wanting a reliable racing system

Any chance there is a brick and mortar selling a copperhead in the tacoma area? I would like to race on saturday. I know that they are based out of redmond, wa.

I would say to call in to Viper and ask for a local dealer. Any local HRP dealer can sell the Viper line.

The Copperhead has 5 different profiles that can be accessed without the ProGauge programmer, but you will need the ProGauge to customize a profile.

Here is a link to the Copperhead instructions to show what different profiles are available to you. Copperhead Instructions

Looking for a comparison between a 4 pole 540 Castle 3800 and Viper's new 4 pole 540 3900 motor.

Anyone had both and can speak to the differences between the two?

Do you still get a good amount of torque with the 5150kv? And was the testing with a stock scte? And one more question, what kind of temperatures can i expect to see at the esc and motor on this setup after running through a 5000mah 40c lipo pack?

Thanks
