Are there any hobby shops in Florida (Orlando area) selling Viper RC products? Headed to Florida for vacation tomorrow morning with my family and wanted to pick up 13.5 combo while Im there!
Looking on the dealer listing page on the Viper website there is no dealers in Florida. However there are a few shops in Ontario - http://www.viper-rc.com/viper_canada.html Hope that helps! |
Team Viper's First ROAR National Title
Team Viper's first year on the race circuit, Team Viper's first ROAR national title!
Factory driver Brian Eady wins 2wd buggy 17.5 by taking the TQ through a tie breaker and running away with the first two a-mains to claim the overall title. Brian's VTX10 esc and VST 17.5 ran cool and fast all week to provide the race winning horsepower. Congratulations Brian! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Viper-...80029898734232 |
Yesterday I ran the 1800kv motor again and result is FAIL! Mikes Hobby shop onroad and offroad track were used.
Runs too effin' hot man. 170F running half a pack is not exceptable. I had to ease on the brakes and throttle to get to 150F. Was like granny drivin' in loserville county. I had more fun driving a 1512 1400kv 4pole motor. Sensor board on the motor is toast as well. My son's 2 pole C50L 1800kv Hacker has more power/excelleration and runs way cooler. There was another Viper motor on the offroad track and that one also ran stupid hot. Just like the LRP Vector 8 motors, these 1/8 Viper 3 slot 2 pole motors are no good for 1/8 vehicles. However they would be great motors in 2s and 3s Slashes with Turbo enabled on the esc's. Hopefully improvements will be seen with new rotors. |
Snellemin, what speed control (and settings), as well as gearing were you using? All that can make a difference in how hot the motor runs, as well as how much power and RPM it has.
Let us know some information so we can help you with the product. |

Let us know some information so we can help you with the product. Next up will be dropping timing to 0 degrees and play with gearing. This is the vehicle. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...C/DSC08061.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...C/DSC08059.jpg http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...7-20gtpgrp.jpg |
Gearing seems a bit high - even if just running up and down the street that seems to be pushing the envelope. Especially if you are just running at full throttle for long periods of time.
Also, not sure about Tekin 1/8 speedo settings, throttle freq, boost(if available) would make a difference. just my thoughts. |
Do you guys forsee any problems using the VTX10R with the new Tekin pro4?

I am having some trouble. I just installed a 10r into my sc104x4 with an LRP 5.5 540 with a 13mm shaft (yes you read that correctly 540) i am running 12/62 on the gearing. My motor temps are around 125 -130 for the 3 mins i am able to run it but my esc temps get up to 175-200 especially the 2 resistors and the wire/post connections. I am running no punch, highest pwm on the throttle and the brake trying to keep it cooler. No boost/stock config. 5% drag brake.
I dont know whats up??? Help if you can. JT |

I'm running a 1600KV Viper in a Team-C T8E 1/8 buggy and I feel the motor is lacking. I like Viper and I think 1/10 stuff is awesome so I was excited about the new 1/8 motor but it's a disappointment. The motor runs hot and lacks any real torque needed for 1/8 buggies. If I gear down and/or change ESC settings to lower the temps, then it's REALLY slow... if I gear up and/or change ESC settings for a bit more speed it starts to run hot... pushing the 160-170F range, but either way it just doesn't have enough torque for 1/8 off road racing. I can't just burp the throttle for short jumps, I need to mash the trigger and get a running start. Also, it doesn't have enough torque to keep the nose up over jumps. The motor would be AWESOME for a short course truck especially since it's extremely smooth through the whole trigger. Unfortunately it's lacking for 1/8. Anyone want to buy a Viper 1600kv motor... for a short course? -Dean |
