If I remove ALL the acceleration timing and just do the top end timing will that help with the low traction conditions or would that cause heat or any issues?

top end timing is like turbo on the tekins.

so i say ditch that and only use accel timing..
i dont use much top end timing in offroad anyways most the straights that i run are about the time you hit wot you have to hit the breaks and top end timing just starts to kick in so no need to use it.

Question for Viper RC

In the bigger ESC industry ( Ebikes, Esooters, ECars) we use Regenerative braking... Why dont you guys stand out of the pack and offer such thing?

it would be awesome regen braking for burst accelaration out of corners (4wd) would be crazy!

Looking fo ryour feedback

This is a feature that was offered many years ago in the high end brushed esc days, but not a feature that rc companies have focused on significantly for brushless systems. The effect was rather negligible with the brushed systems, I imagine it would be rather negligible on brushless systems too. Especially with the improvement in battery technology where the packs maintain a much higher and more consistent discharge curve throughout the run. We get a more significant punch increase out of the corners with what the caps can supply than what we ever achieved with regenerative breaking.

But that's not to say it's a concept to be ignored now, either. Perhaps it would be more effective on the brushless systems, and I imagine the larger the vehicle the more effective it would be, such as 1/8e cars.

I meant replacing drag brake by regenerative braking

I received my 10R ESC yesterday ;) Is it possible to find out the max. temperature of the ESC and motor reached during the race ?
It would be nice if you offer to chose between celsius and fahrenheit in the next software release ...

Need help with 1/12 setup

Ok i have searched this forum and didn't find anything on a setup for 1/12 pan car. I am going to my LHS and trying there loaner 13.5 motor this weekend. Can someone help me with a good starting setup for 13.5 boosted 1/12 pan car?
The track is 100' x 46' The infield is semi tight. I am running a CRC Gen-XL with stock spur. Oh and i am buying a VTX10 esc while i am there.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chad J.

not sure one what to gear the crc but

ok, i was looking at the box and it says that they only go down to 2 cell lipo. I am running a 1 cell. So i didn't get one today. I will have to use my tekin RS for now with the loaner 13.5 Viper motor.
Is there any planes for a 1 cell update??
Thanks,
Chad J.

Does the "slew rate" only effect the the "boost"/"top end" or does it also help with the acceleration?

The layout of the menu seems to make me believe its only the "boost"

Thanks.

Chase

only the boost.
it changes how it hits from liner to more aggressive curve.

BIGTRUX 05-27-2011 07:42 AM

Hey guys first off let me say hello to all in here. Just jumped in the Viper bus and need a little help. I plugged in my HS-625MG servo to the servo tester option, (played with some setting as we all do)and now it does not work. When i plug it back into the car the speed control beeps and all the lights flash, I know this cannot be right. so any of you guys in here know where I can go to learn how to fix this? I have tried to find the manual to down it but so far no luck on that either.

Thanks in advance, Bill.
