A 10.5 will pretty much always be spinning at over 4000rpm on track with that gearing, so your basically adding in extra static timing, which the lrp's don't need. Also look to lower your punch settings, although 10.5 I would have started out with 30/30, but 25/30 or 25/25 could help to lower temps. HiH Ed but unfortunately i did burn the motor yesterday before i read you post.. just a curios, you were saying 10,5 motor spinning over 4000rpm... is that mean all 10,5 motor or just this lrp x20 motor? cheers |

Now, from previous testing, the slowest corners on most tracks are around 7-9mph. So the settings your using are pretty much having most of the boost dialed in the whole time... hence the overheating. HiH Ed |
What will be the difference if having the same FDR example 7 what will change if we have a bigger/smaller spur gear or pinion to achieve the same final FDR. thanks.

Does anyone know where i can find a blank setup sheet for the hobbywing v3.1?

Hi to all,
In need of some advice here. I am running an Xtreme 60A in my TC with a Speed Passioon MMM 10.5T. Angelo kindly sent me a setup sheet for the type of track I will be running on, THANKS for that Angelo :) Now my issue: I am using a prog box (not the latest one but not the LED one). In the setup sheet provided by Angelo, it states F/W: 211 STK. I suppose this is the firmware version that has to be used in the prog box? Now to "inject" the 930 STOCK in my Xtreme ESC, I will have to have the following: 1. 211 STK installed as firmware in the prog box 2. USB link v3.3 installed on my PC? Could anyone confirm this? Many thanks, v |

Many thanks, v Honestly, if you have 930_STOCK installed already, just use those settings with that firmware. No need to roll back to 211. 930 was is the most update firmware available for the xtreme 60A, and has all the same settings as 211, with some more improvements. HiH Ed |

If I'm reading that right, you want to install 211_STOCK so as to match the setup sheet?

And hello QLD, have been there a couple of times and missing the place BIG TIME... Coolangatta, Rainbow Bay, Brisbane, Point Danger... Heaven :) So I will go with 930 STOCK. Does this mean I have to have both 930 STOCK in ESC and prog box? Thx again, v |

You don't have to install into program box. The program box just reads/displays what's already installed in the esc.
So if I gather well, once I have updated the soft in the ESC (to 930_STOCK), the prog box will display it on its screen once connected to the ESC? Thx again to all, much appreciated, v |

Are you running blinky or boost/turbo?
If you're running blinky, you can probably gear taller (smaller spur/bigger pinion) to around 3.8, since the XERUN motors are quite torquey. If you're running boost/turbo, then you're geared way too tall and probably need to aim for 6'ish (ie: larger spur/smaller pinion). Phil. Would probably got to about 4.2 |

Smaller pinion. Have plenty of top speed-top end?
If the motor was topping out with your initial gearing at 4.3 and getting too hot at 3.8, at least you know the answer is between those two :D Phil. |

If the motor's getting too hot in blinky, then shorter gearing is the easiest thing to do. There are two ESC settings that can have an impact on heat build up which are "punch" and "drag brake". Finding the right balance between all three for any given track and your preferred driving style will be a matter of experimentation.
