No it's not.

That's why you can not downgrade to another firmware.

We are talking about the Xerun 150A ESC, aren't we?
Anyhow, you then have to download the latest USB link firmware from the HW site, and then you should be able to downgrade to any firmware available in the list, and as I mentioned before, maybe downgrade even further, by running an older USB link software version.

You can install several USB link software versions next to each other on your PC, if you just unpack them in seperate folders.

I'm trying to run Blinky for the first time, and I changed to stock 17.5 preset on the program box, but the esc doesn't blink. Is it supposed to, or is something wrong?

Stock isn't blinky. It can be but u need to take all the boost and timing out with the box. Or use profile #2 no timing. That's the blinky profile

Where can I find the older usb link software.. I currently have ther latest so ok guessing the firmware installed on the esc is old then. But it won't let me flash any firmware thats listed. I find this odd. I have the 120a and never had a problem like this

I don't think it will help, because you have to be able to flash the ESC with the latest firmware, but here you have almost all older version, maybe you are able to flash your ESC.

Gearing

Any help out there fork some gearing
I'm running a 17.5t xerun and the xtreme stock speedo

Ran the car tonight and it feel as if it's reving on the throttle I am running at 4.3 fdr and the car that I am running is a xray t3 2011

The track is a little twisty with a 15 -20 meter straight

To get the 4.3 I am using a 75spur 33 pinion 48 dp

Are you running blinky or boost/turbo?

If you're running blinky, you can probably gear taller (smaller spur/bigger pinion) to around 3.8, since the XERUN motors are quite torquey.

If you're running boost/turbo, then you're geared way too tall and probably need to aim for 6'ish (ie: larger spur/smaller pinion).

Phil.

I know this forum is for the esc .But I was wondering if Hobbywing were thinking about producing a battery charger. As I been using there motor's and esc for a good while with no issues to speak off. So I would be defiantly interested in a charger produced by HW

Boost start is way too low. Try putting it closer to 6-8,000 rpm (I'd personally go closer to 8). Then adjust the boost end r to about 16-18,000.
A 10.5 will pretty much always be spinning at over 4000rpm on track with that gearing, so your basically adding in extra static timing, which the lrp's don't need.

Also look to lower your punch settings, although 10.5 I would have started out with 30/30, but 25/30 or 25/25 could help to lower temps.

I have a new HW Extreme Stock speed control and a new Multi Function LCD Program Box and I can change the various settings just fine. But how do I put the ESC into Blinky mode so the light actually blinks? I run Windows 8.1 and I do not see software on the HW web page that I can install. Please help.
