It sounds like your setting the speedo by itself, but not binding it up to your transmitter correctly(or at all)......I did this in the past with similar results like you mention.....make sure you follow the instructions to set it to your transmitter..."then" do you speedo settings like, nutrl brake, nutrl brake freq, drive percentage, drive frequency.....Ect.......

Thanks to all that replied.. I got it to work and have it set on the P5 setting.. I'll give that a shot and go from there..

can anyone help?

what will happen to your speedo when you connect a full battery pack to the motor? what happened is this. To test the drivetrain someone connected the battery pack directly to the motor while the speedo was still connected. can this cause any harm?

thnx in advance,
santosh.

This is a very bad thing to do to any speedo! It can blow all the FETs out on the main board.

Try to run the speedo. If it works you are very lucky. It may have blown a few FETs and it may work but at a reduced performance level. If you are slow next time you race with known good motors and batts then you have damaged the speedo.

Adrian, thanx for your help. Makes me feel good and bad ;-)

Bad because the car worked and when I went to max speed a lot of smokes came out of the speedo... it died... and almost took out the receiver too.

Good because I love keyence speedo's and now I am going to put in another one knowing that there is nothing wrong with keyence speedo's!

Send the blown speedo in for replacement. It costs $50. Put a note in the box and we will call you for a CC# when it arrives.

AdrianM other than the profile that's somewhere in the middle of this thread, have you played with the numbers and found a better profile for stock motors? -JB

Not Really. I haven't raced stock in 2 years. I run mostly Open Mod and 19T.

All you would really change is drive freq. The lower the better up to about 1.5. Of course this is limited by your throttle finger. If you are a real hammer on the trigger you won't be able to run a low freq. You will burn up your comm and brushes 3 minutes into a run.

Hi,.....

Just wondering what's a good starting frequency for 19T in 1/12th. The 15Khz mentioned in the instructions seems a little high lol?

While I think about it would running the Rapida Pro on 4 cells/19T/3700mah with a personal transponder be ok without a receiver pack?
