Hi all

I Burnt my Lrp Pro Sport Speedo And i find these Keyence ESC attractives ...

However, I have a question.

Didn't you notice there are only 3 wires that came off the ESC, instead of 4 usually ? (on my LRP for example, there were 4 wires, 2 for the batteries, and 2 for the motors )

What do you think about this ? A wire is missing, right ?

Thanks for your help & replies ...

EDIT : I'm talking about the EXSTRAIGHT Keyence ESC.=

all is good you only need 3. the positive for the motor also goes to the battery. you can solder an extra positive if you want. the positive solder tab is twice as wide.

Default ESC Question

I am interested in buying a rapida pro esc. I have a couple questions I hope someone can answer. Do you need to run a power cap and/or a schotty diode with this esc? I went to the web site, and I think it said No for the schotty diode, but I didn't see if it said anythig about the power cap. Also, I don't understand all the stats, like ohms resistance and all that stuff, so how do you know which esc is better than the other. For example, I have been looking at the Hara twister 2, and possibly the new Tekin that is coming out. Is the Rapida pro better then those two? How do I determine which one is better? Any help would be appreciated.

There is no NEED to use one but it's GOOD practice to use
For Ohm, if I'm not mistaken the smaller the number the better it is. It is the resistance so if has small resistance then power will go faster
Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Now I want to install my V Extreme ESC to my touring from 1/12. The original wires have been cut short. Can I solder all new wires on V Extreme Zero? Someone told me that could damage the circuit board. Is it true???

You can't go wrong with either the Keyence or the New Tekin, both are top of the line ESC's,I've ran a Keyence and really liked it,but for the money and simplicity, the Tekin can't be beat and the new ones are going to be smaller than the Keyence's I think. As for the Ohms (resistance) you'll never notice the diffrence on the track.

Thanks for replying. Is the new Tekin going to be as adjustable as the Keyence? From what I understand you can really fine tune the Keyence. I am undecided on if I should wait for the Tekin to come out or just buy a Keyence right now.

Yes the Tekins have more than enough adjustments, and they are far easier to adjust than the keyence's.That was the main reason I went back to Tekin was the ease of adjustments.

I've had both the G11Pro+ and the Rapida Pro, but don't know much about the new Tekin.

The Keyence takes more time to adjust if you are not familiar with it. However, once you have the process down, it takes little more than a few extra seconds when compared to adjusting the G11.

The range and fine tuning options are a step above what Tekin offered in the past, although maybe a bit too advanced for some.

If the new Tekin is reliable, fine tuneable and can provide the same or better resistance than the Rapida Pro, then I might try it myself. But for now, its all about the tried and true.

It doesn't get much more tried and true than Tekin, they were making ESC's long before Keyence even thought about them!

So basically what you are saying, is that I more than likely will not see a performance difference between the keyence and the new Tekin?
