Keyence ESC

If you compare companies Keyence is on another planet compared to Tekin. Keyence is an international electronics company specializing in industrial testing, measuring equipment and robotics.
That said Tekin makes excellent products for our industry. The Rapida is more advanced than any current Tekin speedo but the new Tekin speedo will have most of the features of the Rapida and will certianly be an excellent unit.
Tekin and Keyence are proven companies and you will be happy with either speedo. The diffrence today is that you can get a Rapida now and it is an established and proven speedo.

However, when compared specifically to the Keyence Rapida Pro, the current G11Pro is not 'extremely reliable'. Past Tekin models were more reliable.

I've personally had no issue's performance wise or other with Tekin,my first esc was a novak, circa 1991,ever since I've ran a Tekin. Two years ago,I tried a Keyence, loved it but it was hard to program.Last year I tried a LRP Q2 it went up in smoke,I then tried a Futaba mc800v2 ( I didn't know it was the same ESC) it also went up in smoke,I tried another Q2 only to have it go up in smoke, lesson learned, I'm back with Tekin this year and am very happy with the results,I'm sticking with Tekin for the forseeable future.

Hiya
Is there any performance loss to keeping with the corally style plugs on the keyence rapida esc, where the wires attach to the speedo? .or is it better to remove the plugs and solder direct to the esc. I will be using it in 27T as well as 540 class.
Thanks

With today's batteries (voltages and low IR) there is no advantage or performance that is noticeable on the track (ie. extra speed, runtime, punch feel) when you direct solder. Turn back the clock to a few years ago, when we were trying to extract every last bit of 'juice' and performance of the batteries (GP3300 and to some extent the GP3700's) there was some performance gain from direct soldering.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Plus its easier to use "tubes"

HI Guys
I am running this speedo in 540 and stock class.
I have been told to use a power cap on this speedo, yet looking on here it says one isn't needed. which is the definitive answer?
Also i have the ENSA set to 0% and using a schottky, which would be better on a 540, to use ENSA or use a schottky.
I need the best possible power for 540.
I have drive power at 40% and drive frq at 1.0 , and neutral at 3 , and power level at 100 , is this a good setting ?

if i recall the manual correctly...if you run with 100% ENSA, you can't use cap; anything else, you need to use cap.
AdrianM did post the initial settings for both stock and mod, and also commented on the use of cap a few pages back

The Schottky diode is in the box just in case you run less than 100% EnSa. You cannot use the diode if you run the speedo at 100% EnSa...it will burn up the drive fets.
Only run the diode if you run 0% Ensa in the Rapida or 30% in the Zero V series.

i currently run with one tho i did ran without before. It's claimed to help out the esc/batt pack when accelerating
