IIIRC, the manual says that with ENSA on stock setting (100) you shouldn't run any motor diodes - however, if you lower the value you can run diodes.

Has anyone tried both settings. I have a much more 55A diode pack sitting around that i have used with my KO speedo, but not tried ti with the Rapida.

I have been really struggling at the last couple of meetings with breaking - breaks fading during the run (motor heat i suspect), just wondering if running a big diode with the ENSA lower would help.
Matt,
I run two Novak 36amp schottky diodes with my Rapdia Pro using 7 & 8 turn motors and don't seem to run short on brakes, (but I do prefer softer brakes then most). Have you tried running a fan on your motor? This may stop the motor from overheating and causing the fade....

Regards,
Peter

Peter, it's just one of those things that i've been thinking of recently. How do you run your ENSA setting with those diodes??

I used to run AdrianM's recommendation on 23T without diodes and ensa at 100%. Last race i had Straight diodes, 0% ensa and heatsink glued to the fets with light coat of metal epoxy...AWESOME!

It's set to zero (as stated in the instructions). My understanding was that if this was set to anything else it could damage the unit, but AdrianM will know for sure if this is the case...

The Rapida Pro is the one you want now. Keyence esc's are great IMO. I have had almost no issues with mine and the only time it has faultered, Keyence replaced it for me. Places you can get them from are:

Schumacher USA - see Adrian Martinez
Precision RC - Hong Kong
Champ RC - Japan (this is where I got mine from, very good service)

I'm sure there are more places around the world. But these places are good to deal with.

Hope this helps,

Leonard.

Any ESC can become fragile depending on the hit that it takes...but to answer your question- I have 4 Rapida Pro's and I had an Zero VE also and I've had no issues whatsoever

I've had one in my Mini for a while now, and the rolls and flips it takes, man, I'm surprised my Rapida Pro still is working 100% the way it's been treated.. it's built solid!

I'm sure the Zero-V is built in the same fashion, so I wouldn't worry..

Just follow the instructions for recalibrating the speedo with your radio.. it's probably just off-center.. does it stop when you hit the brake?
Does it show 100% brake when you do? If not, it's just the throttle trim on the radio..

I've found it goes a forward automatically if my radio's not on.. I gather the servo is responding properly?

It'll also go forward on its own if the plug to the receiver is in the wrong way round in the reciever.
