Got my Rapidia today and love it....Ran a zero v for two years before that and not a problem at all.All I got to say is keep up the good work and you will have a customer for life.

Has anyone tried the stock set up in the back of the manual?Also is it possible to purchase new cases for the zero extreme series?

I'm going (within an hour) to give mine it's first run with my new Rapida Pro on the stock setup from the back of the manual. Will let you know how it went.

Take into account though it will be on concrete with brand new rubber running a Johnson 540 and it's my first on-road car. So any opinion wont be coming from experience lol.

I do know already (from a brief run up and down a long concrete drive way) that the brakes on 2.0 khz aren't up to much so I did try it on .5 khz which is far better. Not "into a brick wall" stopping quick but then again consider the motor and 1500 unmatched batteries stock racing is limited to here in NZ.

Well first of all I'll set the scene....lol

Car: Yokomo CGM
Drive train: Twin differentials.
Weight: 1500 grams
Tires: Yokomo G2's
Esc: Rapida Pro
Setting: 540 stock from back of manual
Battery: Duratrax Shark 1500mah sport pack
Surface: 7 side by side tennis courts (bitumen) approx 90m wide
Esc starting temp: 35/c
Pinion/spur: 34/66
Rollout: 43.68mm

Suspension setting rear: Completely kit setup + black anti roll bar

Suspension setting front: Completely kit except shocks 61 not 60 mm and second most upright hole used in schock tower + silver anti roll bar.

Result one very dusty car +.......

Runtime at max speed 8.5 minutes until noticable speed drop.
Esc end temp: 37/c
Neither battery or motor to hot to touch

Handling, not enough steering at slow speed but considering min drive power in the stock setting is 40% hardly surprising.

So good for non technical tracks but I think I'll lower it to say 20% which should give better control over steering hence more I think? Or remove the antiroll bar perhaps?

The Rapida is just like the Zero V on Rx packs. Pull the red wire out of the speed control's Rx plug. You will still need to turn the speedo's switch on to get it to go. When you plug in your Rx pack the speed control will light up even with it's switch in the off position but it will not send power to the motor until you turn it's switch on as this arms the fets and allows it to send juice to the motor.

Be sure to pull the red wire out of the Rx plug. If you don't, you may burn up your Rx or the BEC circuit in the speedo.

I think you can find cases. I bought my esc from speedtech rc and I think they offer them

Dash it all!

Can anyone tell me just what exactly dash power mode is supposed to do? The way I read it is if it is turned on it raises the power limit just for the first of pulling the trigger right? But raises it to what?

I understand that if the PL is set to 100% then it doesn't work but does that mean if you set PL to 99% then for the first pull of the trigger it will raise it to 100% instantly? Now that would make for a quick start!

I think it is raised PL to what you have set it as maximum.. anyhow, the importance of dash mode is make the ESC to start as if it where receiveing maximum throttle transmitter trigger.. by passing all other setting.

But according to the manual Dash doesn't work if your PL is 100%? Which is why I asked raises it to what?

From the manual....

"This function raises the power level from the first trigger action at starting time, which helps to start up quickly."

So is the most you can set the PL to 99% to enable that "start up quickly" or it won't even work?

Anyway certainly when I tested it on the bench (no motor) if it's supposed to go to 100% power on first start up the led certainly didn't show it.

I'm having trouble with my Rapida throottle settings.The neutral and brake setting works fine but my throttle goes to 72% barely pulling on the trigger I have tried resetting it but it won't give me a gradual climb to full power.Any one got any ideas?

in the radio do you have the exponent up on the throttle or like on the helios you can set response speed on the throttle and also punch.

probably the minimum drive setting.

If i were you i'd go back to one of the pre set programs, then re-set it to your transmitter, and see how it is then.

If it's ok, you can make any alterations that you needed and re-save the program if required.

Yes, Dash mode should be able to bypass all minimum power and must shows 100% from the first trigger.
