Under FH3 modulation, you will only be able to have 4 channels selected. To use only 2 channels, you would have to use one of our FHSS-2 receivers and change the modulation in the M11X to FH2.

Almost killed my 451 receiver!

Last night I was trying to check some settings on the m11x, plugged in a 2s 1300mah lipo to the receiver, the batt pack swelled and poooofed!!! I thought I fried my receiver and two brand new Sanwa HVS servos, after pulling myself together I plugged in 4AA alkaline batteries to the receiver but the LED didn't light up...

Tried it again, the LED lite up and the servos are fine... Thank god!

I bet the few seconds it took for the led to light felt like an eternity.

Glad to hear that the battery was the only fatality.

yeah... it felt like eternity... i thing some "part" of my body shrunk after seeing that lipo went pooofff...

guys! anyone running a lipo receiver pack for the 451/451R receiver? wat capacity pack and wat discharge rate? my 1300mah 20c 2s pack went poofed and i begin to think 20c maybe too much for receiver, i want to be safe the next time around... should i forget lipo and go for lifepo instead? a fully charged lipo is definitely more than 7.4v and i am concern about the long term negative effects on the receiver and servos... ;)

lipo for rx and tx are not high in c dischage rate!!

i saw that before but no balance tab...

killermmn 04-04-2010 08:46 PM

the pack got a balancer port, just in the pic the balancer port is not there!!

I believe that Airtronics does not recommend running 7.4 unregulated

Input Voltage: 4.8v to 6.0v

We tried running the 451R with direct Lipo (the same battery we had run on a spektrum reciever for ages)........... lasted 30mins. Strange thing though we can still get power to the servos but will not bind up........... can't even get rebind to work.

Put in the standard 451 with a Life battery and all was good

here is the strange thing, my sanwa HVS servo is rated to 7.4v, if the the 451/451R can't handle 7.4v input then why are they producing 7.4v servos?

killermmn 04-05-2010 08:43 AM

sanwa said they fine at 7,4 volt!!
you need a litttle lipo not a high c disarate lipo because that help the rc!!

Here is part of e mail from Airtronics I received.

I am running the Sanwa HVS-ZS (not sure about their Airtronics equivalent), after seeing my lipo receiver pack went up in smokes, I will stick to LiFePo...

One more thing, if one runs a lipo receiver pack on high voltage servo, I recommend running a voltage cutoff, over draining the lipo pack can lead to explosion!
