Pretty sure Outsiders RC has some in stock.

Stock is also a consideration, Team Powers in Australia have had lower stock levels than Xray (and that's pretty bad, and why hardly anyone runs T4/X4 anymore :P)

I did order a Surpass from Ausrab to try, if and when Hanna eventually ships (not even sure he's still in business....)

What type of track are you racing on? Is it a big highspeed track or a short technical track? The Surpass motor is a great motor. I would lean more towards a REDS Racing motor.

Due to popularity and to avoid disappointmen,it is advisable to pre-order via the dealers.
Australian trackside dealers are....
Outsiders Rc. - Hobbies Direct - RAB - Love RC Racing - Smokem. - Super Stock and RPM.
V5S 21.5 Outsiders RC - In stock

The Outsiders team took 3 wins at the recent Vics (48% of entries) Most importantly- Current on and offroad state Junior Champion.
Global team drivers have won events with endbell set anywhere from 25-50.
Locally we are suggesting endbell 38-40 and gear accordingly( very efficient) Start around 3.2fdr for Bayswater and add pinion teeth as required. Very broad power feel and consistency once geared correctly. Tune esc settings to your liking.

Will the pending ROAR approval V30 motors be ROAR legal in September OR will it be another SKU/Part Number? I’m confused because R1 has both Pending ROAR and ROAR Approved for 13.5T.

There are new rules coming in September 2025. I am not sure exactly what they are, so I will only tell you that there is a rumor that there will no longer be an IR minimum. One thing for sure is, the legal motor fan size limit will be 40mm instead of 30mm. That should help keep this motor cool.

New motor rules do not allow epoxy coatings on the windings, which help keep the current motors cool. There are changes allowed in the configuration of the stack and windings, which will allow lower IRs. No longer will there be a universal minimum resistance for a motor wind, but instead each motor submitted to ROAR will be its own benchmark and production units in the field will be held to that minimum. Welcome back to the motor-of-the-month game.

I believe the lower IR is the reason the R1 will not be ROAR certified until September, which is when the new IR rule kicks in.

Here's a video of my latest motor test. It's the SpeedZone Evolution 17.5. The numbers were actually impressive. I'll get it on The Jerry real soon to find out if I'm still impressed.

great review bro. We gotta get you some 21.5’s to do some reviews on as that motor covers 2 classes in the sedan world. You’re near Sacramento right? I’ll let you play with my cans for the nats if time allows.

Thank you for the complement. It's good to see experienced racers are enjoying them. It makes me feel more accomplished.

That would be great. I'd be more than willing to play with your cans. The last time I played with someone's cans, she slapped me.

I'm hoping to someday be able to test more than just the 17.5's. I would also like to test the 13.5's and the 21.5's. Next year, I'm hoping to get into ESC's. I just have to get the gear setup first.

Here's the SpeedZone Evolution on The Jerry. With these numbers and being the lightest motor I ever tested, this might be a pretty good choice for a 1/12 on-road car.

I dont see it being a motor of the month. Its the exact rules they have always used in every country except the US and they dont have motor of the month battles.

It will allow more motor manufactuers to get into the 25.5 motors as they will now use same stators as 13.5, 17,5, 21,5, etc.
