I ran quicker with a G4R HT epoxy than a new G5 HT in WGTR. Simply because of heat control.

Yes, I have seen a difference in heat. Especially with the R1. I guess it would also depend on the type of racing. In offroad, too much timing or gearing will take out too much torque, so jumping and accelerating out of corners became a problem. I have seen most racers gear back down to regain torque. In these instances, the new motors were taking the lead.

Over the weekend I borrowed a friends old V21 R1 21.5T while he used a V30R. He did not out-motor me.

I've also done some back to back testing of my G4R 13.5T against a G5, and lap times were the same.

I'm not convinced there's a big generational gap.

it's just a new challenge to find the best spot.

Were the temps the same, as well as the torque? Interesting. I have not tested the G5 yet. I've heard mixed feelings on it. I believe it has a narrower stator to bring up the RPM. The VR30R was not impressive. Feel it has a little more power, but it gets way too hot. I would really like to get another one and do a thorough test on timing points.

On another note, I should be getting the new Zombie in this week. It's coming from China, so...
