Updated all of my receivers with a nightly build with the PWM reboot fix so I could try the MT12 in my race cars. Having the throttle timer and voltage telemetry is something I've been missing from drone racing for years. Ergonomics are going to take some getting used to cause it starts to feel a little weird after a solid 10 minutes of doing laps. I'll have to play with the trigger spacing and maybe get a wheel adapter.

Responsiveness wise it feels amazing. Much better than my M17. I noticed this with my crawlers too but the biggest difference is in the throttle. It has a really long throw and it just feels like there's a ton of resolution so you can really play with the traction without losing control.

Can also confirm that the reboot fix is working. Haven't had a reset since updating and I ran about 4 full packs through my EB410.2 wednesday night.

There is an RF port connector on the MT12 main board, so just connect it here.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...72b3eedd81.jpg
It's easy to do. However, it is not possible to flash the firmware on the radio, so it must be removed when flashing.

1. Use EP1/EP2 compatible RX as internal TX module
2. Use WEB Flasher to UART flash "Generic ESP8285 Full-duplex 2.4GHz RX as TX" to RX
3. Connect RX to the RF port of MT12

RX_____RF port(MT12)
GND ---- - (minus)
+5v ---- +(plus)
TX ------ RX
RX ------ TX

A genuine internal ELRS module costs $55, but this method costs about $15 ($0 if you have a spare receiver).

Hey again!

I finally got around to flashing the ep2 today and everything seems good. However when I plug it into the mt12 it doesnt seem to want to work. I verified with the multimeter that all my soldering connections are correct, and I set the internal module to CRSF.
The green light on the ep2 turns on for a second and then turns off. I put a volt meter on the red wire (5v) and it appears like the mt12 is not powering the ep12 (0.0v)

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Is the module recognized when you start ExplessLRS Lua?

Please check the wiring again, noting that the silk printing on the M/B is misaligned.
In my image, the M/B's RF port connector is from above,

+(plus) : red wire
- (minus) : black wire

TX : yellow wire
RX : green wire
BOOT : NC

The wiring arrangement of the receiver connector is completely different from that of the RF port.

Also, "Generic ESP8285 Full-duplex 2.4GHz RX as TX" firmware v3.3.0 doesn't seem to work for some reason. I am using v3.3.2 only on the TX side.

Here is the wiring I got so far.

No, the lua script doesn't do anything :(

3.3.2 is the version of the generic esp8285 full duplex 2.4

OK, let's check them in order.

The wiring is the same as mine and seems to be correct, but I'm a little worried about the part circled in red in the attached image. Check to see if there is a short circuit with the adjacent pattern, and resolder if possible.

Next, turn on the power to EP2 alone. At first, the green LED blinks at approximately 1Hz, and after 60 seconds it switches to high-speed blinking. The fast blinking indicates that the EP2 is in wifi mode. Please make sure that you can access EP2 using the web UI. You can also check the firmware version of EP2 on the web UI.

If you can confirm up to this point, EP2 is set up correctly. Next is a check of MT12.

Set as follows in SYS>HARDWARE.
Internal RF
 Type CRSF
 Baurate 1.87m(or above)

Set as follows in MDL>SETUP.
Internal RF
 Mode CRSF 1.87m
Just to be sure, set to "External RF OFF".

Connect EP2, turn on MT12, and start SYS>TOOLS>ExpressLRS. Normally, the ExpressLRS LUA screen will be displayed here. If it says "Loading...", EP2 is not recognized.

Has anyone had any issues with the MT12 with ELRS as it comes out of the box before any creative flashing/updating software fiascos ? Just out of the box and using it ?

I just took mine out of the box and started using it. No problems at all so far, haven't touched any of the firmware or anything like that.

cool thanks I’m looking for a second radio , and I read some of the issues but it seems when they are trying to upgrade something lol

I got mine about a month ago. I didn't have any problems at all. I did notice that the default channels on mine were set "correctly" of CH1 = ST and CH2 = TH unlike most of the YouTube reviewers where they had to change the channels from the start.

Mines working fine so far but just setting up in the garage. Doing some oval racing tomorrow night for the first time with it. Not the most demanding thing for a radio but I'm looking forward to it.

My .02 , I have been waiting for a hall sensor edge tx surface radio and couldn't wait to get my hands on this thing.

Bought an elrs with external 4 n 1 and after a week of playing with it , driving one car around the house , i don't feel edge for surface vehicles is there yet.

Yes you can do a ton with it , if you put the work in. I use it flying , all of the options and mixing is amazing, but we have a lot more going on in n planes and quads. for surface use I don't think we need the complexity of 10 different ways to change the same parameter and long and short presses to get there.

I'll probably keep it for my crawlers but no way it's going be my race radio, too many options to screw up because I had an accidental click adjusting expo.

Feels a lot like Linux , fun to tinker with , but annoying as a daily driver.

Question about curves: curves are just another name for expo right? If my curve is a straight line from top left to bottom right is that a 1:1 curve? Meaning 35% trigger pull = 35% throttle, 45/45, 65/65, etc.?

I was a little confused because when I added a curve it was a flat line and pulling the trigger did nothing.

Second question: for reducing overall power, to let my kid drive for example, I would need to adjust my throttle end points, or is there a different way to do this?

Yes and no - a curve can be expo, or it can some other custom defined set of point, and I think you can select special types of functions, too.

When you select a curve you have to select the type of curve, then you have to modify the curve itself. For expo, you simply select expo for the curve type, then there's a field for the weight of the expo curve. Sounds like you didn't see or adjust this field.
