I think this clause clearly draws the line at anything that uses a sensor to "adjust the performance of the vehicle while in motion." I think that's a pretty good line to draw - after all every other radio electronically alters the driver's input in some way - applying curves, delays, etc. - and the programmability built into ESCs is just as advanced. Our ESCs do a good portion of our braking for us with drag brake. This radio might be new, but it still doesn't do anything that is outside the realm of what's been done before. |
Plus they could change that rule or create a new one.Given that they are these sinister people who always will do whatever they can against the poor people in this hobby (at least that's what quite a few people here on rctech would make you believe )

BTW, to update, I just tried to run the .bin from the SD and it asked to confirm to Flash, is this the right way to upgrade? I honestly couldn't get the BuddyTX thing to work (no officially supported releases for the MT12), or the hold T1+T4 "center" method to work.
Neither the bootloader nor the radio firmware can rewrite itself. Therefore, the radio firmware is flashed (updated) on the bootloader. Similarly the bootloader is flashed on the radio firmware. To start the bootloader, use the T1+T4 method, but for MT12, hold T1+T2 inward and press the power button. As mentioned earlier, v2.10.0 has not been officially released yet. Therefore, in EdgeTX Buddy, it will not appear in the list unless you check "Include pre-releases" from the "Filters" drop-down list (the same goes for nightly).https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...487365ffa8.png |

EP1/EP2 compatible receivers can be used as internal TX modules(#1457).
There is an RF port connector on the MT12 main board, so just connect it here.https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...72b3eedd81.jpg It's easy to do. However, it is not possible to flash the firmware on the radio, so it must be removed when flashing. 1. Use EP1/EP2 compatible RX as internal TX module 2. Use WEB Flasher to UART flash "Generic ESP8285 Full-duplex 2.4GHz RX as TX" to RX 3. Connect RX to the RF port of MT12 RX_____RF port(MT12) GND ---- - (minus) +5v ---- +(plus) TX ------ RX RX ------ TX A genuine internal ELRS module costs $55, but this method costs about $15 ($0 if you have a spare receiver). |

Out of curiosity, have you had any temperature problems? Does the ELRS receiver get really hot when transmitting? Is it still working for ya?
I continue to use it even now. |

Is there any way to use this ep2 connected to the external module bay headers? (So that the internal 4-in-1 can stay connected?
I have an EP2 ready to go for this, but I'd like to keep the 4-in-1 as well if possible :) I have never done it, but how about connecting both and switching the power line? Or, pull the wires out of the case and reconnect the connectors. |

No, it can only be used as an internal module.

Perhaps I can use one of the switches that came with the radio. I'll keep you posted on this! This could be the ultimate mod making this a "5-in-1" I have 2 radios so I don't mind trying this on one :) |

In your photos, you are using the correct 5 pin JST connector to connect your EP2...may I ask what the connector name is so I can make sure I get the correct pin/pitch?
Is that a 5-pin jst-zh? It seems that some shops call it JST. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...3618d08a1a.png |
Last question for a while!
I recently updated my MT12 and have set the default models to use ST instead of TS. Everything works good with that, however I've noticed that my "trim" mappings/labels are no longer correct. Adjusting the ST trim actually moves the throttle, and changing the TH trim changes my steering. I can't seem to find where those references are made in edgetx in order to correct it. Any ideas? |
Perfect visibility even with the sun shining directly on the screen. The radio is worth it just for that alone.

I believe you may have to assign those switches in the settings aLeo. They won’t automatically switch, I believe.
just got mine but, from what I’m reading the switches, trims etc won’t automatically switch. Unless you change something in radio setting still learning my self. amp3d |
