RadioMaster just copied a bunch of different peoples' work from the flight world, crammed it all into a surface radio, and as far as I can tell provide nothing back to the groups off of whose work they profit even after tossing an entire new user base at them. Ultimately they're who I should be upset with - they sold me a radio that shipped with firmware that causes signal dropouts and full throttle runaways and can't even make a steering servo rotate its full range.

I'm done with this radio.

I recently bought an MT12 ELRS and I'm trying to set up the buttons and switches. I see how to set steering end points individually, but I want to assign dual rate to one of the switches or to T5. I sometimes need to adjust the dual rate during the race. I know that I am being lazy by asking here, but I hope that someone will share their knowledge with me so that I can be lazy.
Thanks! |

I do see Surface-specific Lua becoming standard for UI, similar to how Yaapu has become a near-standard interface for certain sides of the quad market.
My concept is as follows. - Reproduce the original screen as much as possible - Display all the trim values and GVAR that I need on one screen - Alignment of physical trim position and on-screen trim position - Display the trim value ± clearly. - Return graphics to traditional stick position display To use it, simply copy the attached file to the SD card and restore the model from the backup folder. I wrote the script very clearly, so it's easy to modify it to suit your needs. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...cb076294ed.jpg |

Here's a better tutorial on how to set up dual rates - https://youtu.be/9gU8ww4Th5w?si=qHlc5xpI0HaoB25t

This is a great tutorial, the only issue is where ever you have the pot switch when you go from model to model that dual rate won't change. I was hoping to have a button that will change the dual rate that will save per model. Otherwise you have to readjust dual rate for every car when you switch models and that would be frustrating because each car has a different sweet spot fo the dual rate.

If I have two radios and a dozen cars is it possible to bind all the Rx to both radios? Not to try and drive the same car with both radios at the same time but let's say I have a friend who wants to drive truck A while I drive truck B. What would be the best way to configure the radio and receiver?

There is also a model lending feature too, but it would be less convenient. |

I don't know first hand because I've never tried, but I think it would work with ExpressLRS. You have to use the same binding phrase for everything and enable model match. The risk is if both radios accidentally selected the same model at the same time. Hopefully someone here has tried it.
There is also a model lending feature too, but it would be less convenient. Seems like multiple transmitters with the same binding phrase at the same time is not supported and not a good idea. There are discussions of alternate solutions. I'll refrain from offering any advice in this as it's being my experience, but I'm really interested in this as well as eventually my kids may want to join me in my RC hobby. |

Where are these discussions? What are the other alternatives?
I originally though the Loan Model feature could be used, but that feature has been deprecated: https://www.expresslrs.org/software/loan-model/ (https://github.com/ExpressLRS/ExpressLRS/pull/2542) |

I think the most promising was this one where you set the bind to be "volatile" so the receiver always powers on in bind mode and you simply select bind on your transmitter each time:https://github.com/ExpressLRS/ExpressLRS/discussions/2652] https://github.com/ExpressLRS/Expres...scussions/2652

I did a little bit more reading about binding and it seems the Loan Model feature was kind of brought back... The bind mode for the receiver has three options: Persistent (normal mode), volatile (goes into bind mode every time you power-cycle), and "returnable" (this new method of loaning a model)
