All of the allowed bodies in GT-1 are also allowed in GT-2 (any 190mm GT or Sports car body). I ran the same ORC Amemiya RX-7 body last year on my TA05-IFS and 416WE in GT-2 and GT-1 at the Aliso Regional and it fit. P/N is 51372. Only body not sure if it will fit a 415 or 416 is the new Xanavi Skyline R35 IFS body. But if you are going to run the same car (TA05 IFS or TB03) in both classes, you have no issues.

Most of us have some kind of budget and cna't afford to keep up with the motor or speed control of the week. The rules have become so inconsistant now and equipment is changeing every other week as well as year to year. People budget a certain amount for rc cars per year after their initial investment. The way things are going it no longer is an investment as motors and speedo's are becomeing like disposable items. The average racer can not afford that. Ther needs to be some stabalization soon or TC will continue to die. I think new people understand about having to make an initial investment to start racing, but what scares them away is the fear that their equipment will be obsolete before they evan hit the track.

sorry for rambling
I stopped racing real cars because it got to expensive for me as a non-sponsored racer. So, I do not have an unlimited budget which is why I got into RC cars because I can afford them. As for the motor or esc of the week. I ran this season in GT-1 with a LRP TC spec brushless esc. I think it was 1-1/2 years old. Maybe older. I qualified and finished in the top 5. My motor was the older non-timing adjustable LRP so yeah, it was old too. I upgraded to a KO esc for the GT-1 car because the one I ran in my GT-2 worked good for me. In GT-2, I will still run the same Novak yellow ring 17.5 I have been running for the last 1-1/2 years next season because with an adjustable timing esc, I do not have to have an advance timing motor. Plus, with advance timing motors now allowed, it helps people with no timing adjustable esc's like the Novak GTB be closer. There will always be people that will have the latest of whatever new comes out but there is still something to be said about driving skill. Some people will admit they were out driven, some always say the other person spends more. At this years GT-2 Nationals, I was outdriven by 3 other people. I plan to do better at the 2010 Nats by practicing and driving more and developing chassis set-ups. Not buy buying all new equipment.

I am still confused about the Body rules for GT1 and GT2, do you think there could be a typo and the Body rules for GT1 and GT2 got switched by mistake? Last year GT2 (IFS only chasis) was limited to only IFS bodies. This year GT2 is open to any body but still limited to an IFS Chasis only. What also makes me think that they are switched by mistake is the fact that 3 of the 4 bodies come on the IFS versions of the TA05 and TB03. and the skyline was replaced by the GT-R's that also come on the IFS cars.

I know they want a visual difference on the track between the classes that is why GT2 last year had the limited bodies. The other question is if it isn't a typo will the listed bodies work on the GT1 cars since they were designed with the lower nose for the IFS chasis. of the list I am thinking only the older skyline body and the earlier version of the SC430 bodies will work on the GT1 Chasis (unless you are running an IFS car in GT1).

Just some thoughts

Well, I don't know about most of the IFS bodies, but I do know the Cusco Subaru that comes with the TA05 ver.2 DOES fit my 416WE, so most likely I'll use that for GT1 & the Xanavi GTR should be fine in GT2.....

Ok thanks I wasnt sure about the rules. So I can say run a R34 body in GT2 and then use the same R34 body in GT1? And yes Im going to be using a Ta05IFS and because of the rules I think I can use it in both classes.....I just wanted to make sure I get a body that can be used accross both classes.

Cool

Hey everyone. i wanted to tell everyone my idea to see if you agree and/or back me up. i pitched this to fred but he is still deciding so im hoping if i get some people backing me up he mite agree. this is my idea:

Past champ race

All past champions and TRF drivers are eligible to run the class
All tamiya sedan chasses (415,416,ta05,tb03,IFS...)
All tamiya bodies including NSX, Ebro, Subaru Legacy
Tires will be a spec muchmore 32
Any Roar legal 13.5 motor
Any Roar legal speed control
Qualifying will be heads up start

i want to get the past champ race so that we all can be still involved in the TCS series without intruding on other classes that people will be taking seriously. If the past champ race does come back it will be more likly to only be at the Aliso Viejo track for the regional races since there is a large abount of past champs in the area.
This will also be in effect during the Nationals

I hope that i will get some feed back so that this race can happen.

A step in the right direction for sure

FYI to the Tamiya Rules Makers: The Trinity part number listed I believe is the original 13.5 Duo (which I dont mind, since I still race with one) but the rules mention DUO 2

Way to go Fred and Tamiya. This just goes to show what a great company Tamiya really is and how they value the customers concerns.

Besides the SC430 which of the listed bodies will fit the TRF415? And which is the best handling body?

Thanks
