Tamiya’s M-chassis machines, also known as “MINIS”, have been a staple product since the early 1990’s with the original release of the M-01 with the iconic Rover Mini Cooper body. Twenty three years later, the Radio Control category takes a modern step with the release of the ALL-NEW M-07 Concept Chassis!

With any luck it will discontinue the M06 dominance in carpet.

Thinking about running in the TQ qualifier on May 21st.
The TCS event page says this is GT2-21.5, but the rules say GT-2 is 17.5 and GT-3 is 21.5.
Which event is being run at the TQ qualifier: GT-2 17.5 or GT-3 21.5?

For the race at TQ. GT 1 is 17.5. GT2 is 21.5.
There is np longer a GT3 class.
On the TCS website. If you look at the rule and regulations. At the top of page in blue writting you will see a pdf to download for the most up to date rules.

Our faster drivers all switched to the 06 once mini went brushless. Locally (grey carpet) the well setup and driven 06 was worth at least .2-.3 a lap over a perfectly driven 05. I still would much rather race the fwd but if you wanna run at the pointy end of the pack you have to run what will get you there. We just got black carpet so I can try to push both chassis and see what's what. If the 07 is anywhere near as good as the Ta07 we should be in for some awesome fwd racing on carpet!!

Now now let's not take any glory away from the M06 or those of us who have stuck it out and made them work.
After all It already is considered the black sheep in the m chassis family... those of us that dare to drive it have patiently awaited for some sort of update.. yet it never arrived.

And that's why they have both. I never did like driving my M03, even when battling for the win. I could win the A main and come off the driver's stand just glad that the race was over. I thought it was incredibly boring. Then I followed an article on RC-mini and converted it to rear wheel drive. It wasn't competitive anymore, but it was a lot of fun to drive finally. So obviously, I'll keep driving my M06 and loving it!

I've seen a lot of drivers really take to the 06 on carpet and love it which is great. But I've also seen quite a few long standing mini drivers stop racing mini because of the rwd dominance and they also didn't like the rwd. I think more so since we raced the fwd cars forever and it's just a preference. I know Wippler loves the rwd too!
While I had a lot of success with the 03, I much prefer the M05 and now the M05v2R..and soon hopefully the M07. Who knows...if it's modular somewhat like the Ta07, maybe it'll be interchangeable from fwd/rwd ala M01/02.
