do the ESC and 25.5 motors last longer and do not heat up as much?
Iam not familuar with VTA
Pops had a "70" MACH 1 when i was kid, kicks himself every time he sees one.
Years.......... later my son and i built an HM replica 1965 AC Cobra.
NEW Cudas are coming out and do not look any thing like em',
i wish auto makers leave well enough alone.
well Back to RC
no insurance, no tickets, no trailers, no gas, fit 50 or more cars and trucks in the garage.
yeah i like RC Best.

To be fair, no VTA body is perfect. All of the current legal manufacturer's bodies have different quirks such as:
- some have thin lexan due to molding process (results in weak front ends)
- some have 2-piece molds and/or external spoilers (have to mount pieces that break or fall off)
- some have narrow width at rear which can cause wheel rub
- some are slightly out of scale or not an exact replica (can be due to licensing or concessions to fit onto a 1/10 scale car)
Thankfully all of the current VTA bodies look pretty good when viewing them from the driver's stand when painted with a good scheme (Okay, I do wish Parma would improve their molds).

FYI: The best thread to ask questions or read about the VTA class can be found here on RCTech.net - http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...-part-2-a.html
Not to say people won't answers questions on setup/racing in this thread, but you usually will get a quicker response on the other thread.

We have had pretty good experience with hpi bodies. The 68 camaro has been the best Ive used personally. We have used the HPI GT-350 Mustang, 69 Camaro and Cuda, as well as the pegasus 70 Camaro so those are the ones I can only account for.
The HPI bodies seem to have more realistic molding detail I think. The 70 camaro wasnt bad there but way over sized (was like a parachute). As far as durability the 68 camaro has done by far the best for us.....we spend alot of time finding the walls lol. As for 2 piece molds, I dont care for that part but when done right we havent had any issues. Even with spoiler when mounted right.....which isnt with designed mounting area lol.We havent had any narrow width issue with the bodies we have used with our TC5's. All but the the 68 Camaro are a little thin I do agree lexan wise. All my 68 Camaro bodies are still in really good shape after alot of races on concrete and carpet.
The Mcalister and Parma just seem too Bricky looking as well as the RJ Speed bodies. Lacking detail. Whether they hold up as well or better I cant say. But like you mentioned, from the driver stand they do all hold the spirit of the class look.

I just completed gluing up a set of 26mm/31mm vintage tires to the HPI Vintage CC wheels (26mm - HPI #33472/31mm - HPI #33473). Unfortunately the 31mm wheels won't work with the stock wheel nuts on a TC3/TC4 due to the deep recess not being wide enough to fit a wheel wrench. Here is a photo of the mounted tires - the HPI website only shows the wheels.
