Thanks for the replies! It's still tempting to get a prerun and eliminate a lot of break-in time.

Nick it's worth it. I'm not just saying that because my last 4 motors were pre-run and I have a .12 keep-on pre-run for sale. ;)

Hi,...

1 question about Nova tuned pipe for on road & off road (for 3.5cc engine).

What is the difference between a 3 chamber tuned pipe & a 2 chamber tuned pipe???

Thanks

Hi there. Basically the difference was made for noise attenuation purposes. In Europe we had massive noise problems leading to the loss of nitro friendly tracks which had EFRA explore a lot of options into how to make engines quieter. The INS box as well as 3 chamber pipes were developed. Unfortunately the 3 chamber pipe is quieter at the expense of some power.

The 9886 2-chamber pipe with normal air filter used to sound fantastic but is much louder and now banned in Europe (and I think most other countries/blocs too).

So basically the 3 chamber pipe is quieter than the 2 chamber at the expense of a little bit of power.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Based on your explanation, can we also say that fuel consumption of a 3 chamber is better than a 2 chamber pipe???

I think so a little bit. I have never back to back the pipes directly on modern engines so not 100% but I guess the theory is right. I think the last time I ran a 9886 pipe was around 10 years ago???

Hey guys I recently purchased a serpent gt rtr with Nova 21 and trying too replace pull start with a back plate ? I was told #13025 back plate would fit but no support for crank shaft? Any help would be great! Really tired of pulling and have bump box all ready.

I was wondering if Novarossi will be dropping the Top line of surface engines and just keep the marine line going? :weird:

What's a good pipe for the Novarossi .12 Keep On motor?

Mr.A Morris 07-25-2014 09:28 AM

The Novarossi 2652 with 41615 manifold is a good setup for that engine.
The 2660 is also good. It has a little less power than the 2652, but better on fuel.

What's the glow plug to use on this motor too?
