Hi guys,

I have a new Novarossi Plus 12-3SCT Tuned engine and am tossing up which pipe to install. The track I race on is small, tight and twisty so I'm deciding whether to buy an O.S. T-1050SC L52 (which is supposedly suited to the lower rev range) or a Novarossi 51610. Any suggestions? I'm happy to hear other brand/pipe suggestions to go with my engine as well.

Cheers,
Mick

We recommend using header 41615 and pipe 51615. :tire:

Novarossi*Live Range Strum .12 Touring engine

Has anyone tried this motor? Would you recommended it for a novice, on road touring?

Yes, that engine is suitable for your application. It'll be easy to set and have plenty of power for a novice! Good Luck.

No I don't think so. It has a different crank pin diameter if I remember correctly?

I was wondering if Novarossi will be dropping the Top line of surface engines and just keep the marine line going? :weird:

I guess its a secret. :weird:

That's exactly what I needed to know. The price is right too. Thanks

Yes, all R series rods are interchangeable. They keep them updated with running changes. I would go for an R7 - 14

The Sturm is previous known as the N12T1. It is no winner on large races but in the hands of an advanced driver it can differ a 0,2 up to 0.4 second a lap compared with the fastest motors.
For sure for a clubracer an ideal motor.

Is this similar in parts to the novarossi made jp modified x.12?

I believe so, it is based (bore/stroke and crank diameter) on the older motors but you can never tell with Novarossi.

Just bought a .12 Keep On, it's been quite a few years since I've had to run in a .12 (been running offroad for the last 4-5 years). Running in the engine doesn't pose a problem, but how long do I expect it to take? I've just recently run in a Bonito .21, but it was hand lapped prior so run in was relatively quick.

Looking forward to hitting the black stuff with this engine bolted into my new Mugen MTX6 Tourer

Novarossi motors are very tight and can take a good 3/4 of a gallon or more to fully seat in. Depending on your method of break in of course however most come to full race potential in that general area. Its been a while since I have broken in a .12 but the one I did a while back came to power quicker than my .21s.

Finally started to get some fuel through my engine, fired up quite easily after pre-heating, and wow, this engine seems to be coming alive very quickly, a few more tanks and I reckon its track time, but so far very impressed with this little beasty .12 keep-on.
