For me the midrange power is better on the new motor and milleage is better. I run it with the 2660 and short header and still get milleage.

What turbo plug gives better performance in a +12sct nova #6 or nova#7??

Also what manifold goes better with the nova 2660 pipe the short or medium manifold??

Serpent-Dan 05-25-2011 09:29 PM

#6 and the short manifold

SebO 06-10-2011 02:57 PM

what are the differences between the rods 07604/1 and 07604?

There are no set rules for which plug or heat range of plug that are best under all conditions. It depends on fuel. atmospheric conditions etc. but perhaps this quote from E-bay could give you a general guide:

"Use a hot plug when using fuel with a low nitro content (less than 24%), and a cold plug when using fuel with a high nitro content (25% and higher)

If you remove your glow plug heater from your idling engine, and there's a noticibly large drop in RPM, you may need a hotter plug or a fuel with a higher nitro content.

If your engine tends to backfire often, you may be using a glow plug which is too hot, or you may need to use a fuel with a lower nitro content.
"

Whether or not yo agree with that information, you really need to try them out for yourself, to see which you think is better. Nearly all the experienced drivers where we race seem to think that plugs that are comparable to Nova 6 are usually the ideal; but then there is one guy who swears that Nova 5 is the ideal, and he has some of the fastest engines????????

The different manifolds are designed for bottom-end, mid-range or top-end performance. The track that you use the 2660 pipe on, should determine which manifold to use. The 2660 is supposed to be a great top end pipe, and we like using it on fast tracks with a 5 fin header.

Kindest regards,
Lars.

Hello sirs, just wanted to know if the piston, sleeve and conrod of a nova plus 12 will fit and work on an s12 engine? thanks.

spenzalii 06-13-2011 08:30 AM

Question. I have a JP Plus 12 that needs a p/s set. Would any p/s from a base Plus 12 fit? I know finding another JP set will be next to impossible, and would like to know if I had other options besides a stock plus 12 p/s

Thanks in advance. I plan on getting a fresh motor at some point, but would love to rebuild this one. That motor went like stink when it was running

I can only imagine the /1 is a newer version, if I do a Google search on it it shows a lightweight rod.

R5 and R7 are interchangeable. Almost all R rods are, I have seen an R2 and an R4 rod fitting as well, keep in mind the R7 must be the strongest of them all.

choisan 06-15-2011 04:22 AM

pretty much appreciated. thank you!
so lucky that i just got a set of new piston, nice price, exactly identical to my jp-r03, i am thinking to use the original r5 or to replace to run in with a new r7 instead.

btw, the new pt piston set with underhead, r7 is very good price, only US$250. i almost wanted to use this one for my 99% new jp-r03 housing.
and the price for the piston set of the kangeroo is very nice as well.

Roelof 06-15-2011 04:46 AM

I am no fan of getting a new P/S set for an used engine. There is always wear on the crankpin and bearings that it will not run as a new one. Before you know it you do ned new bearings as well and by then you could have a fresh 35+ or even a new JP R03 somewhere from Ebay.

I do like to experment with the used stuff I have in a large bag. Building up engines with used parts and see what it does, sometimes I have a good training engine or something I can ruin with driving in the rain.

choisan 06-15-2011 06:13 AM

i can understand your advice. but i do have 2 brand new cermaic bearing for this r03, and the housing with crank itself is 98% new. so, spending half of the os speed II i recently bought would something worth to make this jp as a practice engine.
by the way, do you have idea if the conrod of the exceed's 21 is the same as the one with the picco's torque(sorry for off topic) no one is able to answer this, they are just there to sell the engines only. thanks again.

No. The piston/sleeve is not interchangeable, only the rod is.
