thanks for advice
spent quite alot of time starting it, but starter box just doesnt spin the flywheel
the piston just gets stuck at the top of the sleeve and doesnt wana come down :weird:

im just gonna preheat it like mad next time, wasting my batteries for starter box

so is the secret just to pre heat it?

bigboss 09-02-2006 12:09 PM

just tried starting it agen, still no luck
the flywheel spins, and wen i stop the starter box, the piston usually ends up right at the top of the head, meaniing the starter box wont budge the flywheel no more, which means i have to turn the flywheel by hand :flaming:

i had 3 engines b4 this, all pull starts, just which i had a pullstart for break in :p

any other advice??
gonna try agen tomoz

What is the difference between a short and a long #6 Turbo Novarossi plug.

ive just broken in 3 novarossi engines for my 3 drivers for the worlds, 2 Plus 12-3CT Tuned's and a LLT3 Tuned and you dont need to pre-heat the engine, just push hard down on the starter box and dont back off so it turns over the engine and then put the ignighter on and let it idle for a tank, then drive it around the track rich as making it reach temps of 100*C and 110, towards the end of the 1 litre and man these engines are fast and we havent even tuned it for racing or put the runnertime race fuel that were gona use at the worlds,

Chris

one tank on the box then put it on the track rich and slowly lean it up dont run on the box cuz this will wear out the piston, microcast pistons dont have alot of pinch just run it slowly rich and go into 2nd gear and lean it up after every tank.

Good for you. Once you get that first tank thru, it becomes much easier to start. My NSr12 stripped the belt on my starter box trying to get it started that first tank. Once it got thru, it was much easier to start. Same ith my RB (although that didn't kill the starter box...)

Chris West 09-03-2006 10:06 PM

yeah so far the NSR12 has been the hardest to turn over for me when breaking in

I have just broke in a brand new nsr12 S5 on a breakin bench end after thr 3 tank it was very good (good compression and does not stuck at the top). Hovever, I notice a big gap on the shaft, I mean, I can move the shaft about 1mm in and out the engine. Is it normal? The engine seens to be very good, but I wil need to put some shims behind the flywheel to remove this huge gap....

regards

Eduardo
