I have a NSR12S3, and it is the same as the Nova Mega with the MCPiston & sleeve...It's a bad mamajama!

I used to have a very good handle on it all but its gettin a little fuzzy now that i'm not into new customer motors every day.

Oddly enouth the NS's we get here are marked
NS12S3-A1

The difference between NS base and NSR base is that the piston in NSR base is using different material or maybe a different coating. And it only has 1 oil pit/groove (you should now this better than me  )
I could be wrong though...
But I guess the NS isnt succeed product, performance is really convincing. The challenge is very hard to break this engine right. NSR is much easier.

About the NS12S3-A1  Im as confuse as you...:ha: :ha: :ha:
Maybe we better wait the "DR" engine.. right ?

NS12S3

I'm kind of a noob to messing around with the internals of Nitro Motors so be gentle.
I have an NS12S3 in standard trim and since ROAR is allowing turbo plugs this year (insert assumption here) all I have to do is replace the head button with a turbo one and obviously get a turbo plug.
Is this correct?
If so.....who sells the head button?

Thanks for your input!!
Kevin

STS and NOVA

hey I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any compatible parts between the novarssi MT12 and any of the STS products?

thanks Jason

Pls check in the manual/part list inside and look carefully for crankshaft part number. Is it only contain 1 part number for crankshaft or there is a variant. If only single number, yes.. the difference would be in underhead only.
This is the number :
NRS-28605 LARGER UNDERHEAD FOR TURBO GLOWPLUG
Pls ask your LHS

To RoyU

Also, I picked up a NSR12S5 engine and I was wondering if ysou could tell me if its a long or short stroke engine and there's also an "L3" stamped on the head, do you know what it stands for. I know this your thread, but if you don't mind.
Sorry, I just feel that this is the right thread.

If in the box is stated NSR12S5, you should have S5 stamped in the headsink. If it L3 the engine should be RR12L3
NSR is normal stroke, ideal for med to big track and L3 is perfect weapon for tight technical track.

RoyU 02-09-2004 09:20 AM

Thanks Goldfinger
On the box its labled "NSR12S5". The top of the head is stamped "Race L3" no "S5". Any idea as to why Novarossi is labling the engine this way?

Could be wrong heatsink only and/or wrong engine.
Pls consult with your lhs.

ChvyPwr-BB 02-09-2004 05:41 PM

The NSR uses the MCP P/S, the NS doesn't.

tekrsq 02-13-2004 05:52 AM

Ok, I'm starting to get a little pissed. I know that somewhere on this planet there has to be a p/s and turbo button for my NS3!!!

Why are you getting pissed?

You can take a look at:
http://rc-mushroom.com/
or contact my LHS :D :
http://www.modelsport.nl/webshop/
I know he has the P/S and also Novamega and maybe Novarossi turbobuttons

tekrsq 02-13-2004 05:09 PM

RC Mushroom doesn't have them...they were my first try.

I looked at your shop's website, but couldn't find anything listed (I had to use a translator page). I sent them an email, I hope they can read it. BTW: I'm not trying to be a smart a**, but I've found quite a few sites that do not have anyone to answer questions in English.

Thanks
