It's hard to answer your question. I have/had a NS3, a NSR3, a NSR5 and many other engines Nova or otherwise, and I NEVER knew what the stock settings were. Even if I did, it's not very useful as different time of the day, different weather, different track, different humidity, different plug, different pipe would all affect the tuning by as much as 2 turns top and/or bottom. What you need is to ask someone who is experienced at your LHS or local track to teach you and help you tune your engine.

Can someone please tell me whether or not the novarossi RX221PS is an onroad or offroad engine, thanks.

ps, the label also reads "race long stroke," production year 2005

Can you remove the plastic insert in the carb and what effect will it have on the engine?

When I go slow, its ok. When I hit full throttle, same like the other case, it just go zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Does any know the factory settings for all the needles? I guess I have to reset it all and start adjust it again.

Thanks a lot!

I think I know what's wrong with my RR12 L5.

Some one point out that my manifold is dented (bended), and it could have blocked the exhaust.

Well, I will try to replace it this weekend and give it a try again.

YES!!!

I got it working now. It was the manfold that caused the problem.
Changed Manifold, engine working superbly.

Thanks!

:weird: And I was wondering why my N12LS3 was so thirsty all the time. This is probably the reason. I will try running the engine with the plastic part on the carb and let's see how it will change the fuel consumption and performance.

Nitro content?

Hey all,

I have a nsr-12 and I have been running 35% nitro. It has 1.5 gallons through it and is running great. What will happen if I change to 30%. I am having trouble getting the fuel that I want in the 35%, that is why the change. I do realize the obvious, I am wondering about possible damage or severly shortened life.

Thanks Tenderfoot
