Think about if your tire is 62mm in beginning and 57mm after 40mins running. And if your 2nd gear is 5.0:1(for example).

when the tyre's diameter is 62mm and your engine is 30000 rpm,the ideal speed of your car is 70.12km/hr

when the tyre's diameter is 57mm and your engine is 30000 rpm,the ideal speed of your car is 64.47km/hr

Do you get the answer?

In general,it need some experiences to win. When the race is going to finish, many racers will have some machine problem. So I will try to slow a bit my speed, more smooth to keep the result. (Or I may play some trick to other racer....it's psywar )

Parcel lady delivered my STS D5 yesterday. I must day, nice instructions! I have had force/sirio/ho-bao and novarossi and these instrucions with STS leave them for dead (I hope engine is of same quality!!)

One very very small gripe though that the package people can easy fix, put the stickers under the foam! mine was on top of foam/under engine and are damaged, you know how we all love stickers!!!

I started breaking in the engine yesterday, going to take it slow

Nice work STS!

Default STS D5 Break In question

Hi,

I've just received my new STS D5 today and I can't wait to see how it runs...

I've read the previous postings about the break in procedures but I still have a few things to ask...

During the break in, do you recommend around 15% Nitro fuel? If so, what do I need to do with the head shims and what head shim setup does the D5 come with? Is it optimized for 30% out of the box?

Thanks in advance for any help...

The D5 coming with total 0.5mm shims. It is optimized for 25-30% Nitro. I suggest you to use low %(5-15%) nitro to break-in your engine. If you plan to use 25-30%Nitro,you don't need to take out shims when breaking in.

the stock shims are for 30% nitro. if you run 16% you need to take out the cooper shim which is 0.2mm the aluminium shim is 0.3mm.
