What's the engine like compared to the original XZ speed and Picco/Reds R5tte? I don't really care for instantaneous crazy bottom end power. I can get that with the clutch. Is it as smooth as a Reds?

Not trying to jack your question but If you don't like instantaneous power you will really like the B2101. It has the same top end as the speed spec 2 but the bottom is super smooth. I as well tried the spec 2 in buggy and didn't care for the explosive power it had.

Man no way the B2101 has the same top end as the spec II. The note it lets off when it's wide open isn't close either. Don't take me wrong the B2101 is an awesome engine. Hope this does t come off poorly just my opinion.

Started break-in of mine 2101 yesterday, and overprimed carb a lot (didn't see fuel level in fuel lines). Didn't realized whats happening, so there were several attempts to start flooded engine (maybe 6-8 total, half of them with untighted plug), engine was preheated to 180F. Of course it didn't start until i took plug and filter off and removed all excessive fuel. Now i'm worrying about any possible damage made to engine.
Oh, and after all that i've fired it up, now it has 4 total tanks of breakin, no any noticeable sings of something awful, only sweating oil from fr.bearing.

Thanks for the replies! Top speed is never a thing in off-road you should worry about.....unless you run a Nova haha. Those things are slow! Seen .19 OS's go faster in a straight line than 100% tuned Novas.

You'll be fine.

Only got abaout 1.5 liters through it today. Very linear engine. It is still very very tight and a noob smashed my brand new OS 2090 pipe :-(

I ran with 7mm venturie and it has almoast the same amount of top end as my Boost 5TR ceramic with 2099 pipe.

I need to get atleast a gallon though the 2101 before i can make a good comparison. I tried lapping the piston in the OS but my tool was abit to small, so i stopped. I would not damage the piston.

That sounds good. Actually i haven't ever turned engine with plug tightened, just burned some rubber on st.box' wheel=) Seems that not-so-grippy tekno flywheel made a good job at this time

What is reasonable temp range for this mill? I'm already at 0.8L mark, so it gonna be race-ready in next 1.5L (i hope), and curious about temps. P4 plug when 70F and above.

It's a no go. The cnc guy said he can't do it.

I just finished my 10 tanks of break in and from the 6th-10th tank, with the cooling head wrapped with foil and the needles being around 1.5-2 turns too rich, temps were around 85-90*C (200*F)

Update for my engine, ran another 3 tanks in, and on the 3rd tank, I did a run time test. Tune is still rich on the LSN, maybe a little rich on the HSN, doing 3 second bursts of full throttle where possible on the track.

The results: 12 Minutes, 4 seconds.

This engine sure is promising.

I'm saying that the way my needles were set then, I would assume that I could lean each needle by around 1.5-2 turns to achieve a baseline tune.

I have no idea what my needle settings are from open or fully closed, I don't tune that way. I tune by sight and sound and how the engine acts.
