Best break in is the bones brew fuel 1 qt only break In 70%/80%. Super easy.

Also best plug would be p3 or p4 if it's really hot outside.

i hope it's NOT typo. this engine is optimized to run 30% with 9% also labeled as 30/9 or some pros are using 25/8. i use bones fuel 30/8. most of us here in east coast use p3 plugs. bones fuel has special break-in fuel which i highly recommend.

There is nothing about 'optimized for 30% in manual', it just says 'breaki procedure actions with 30% fuel'. Along with widely used 25% in Asia i highly doubt about 30% optimization out of box. Yes, it's 30% ready with 0.25 total shimming, but it isn't something like Werks engines built for 30% fuel OOB.

was just trying to point out what's the primary reason of running 40% nitro. this is a competition racing engine...not for bashing. unless he has so much money to burn..

i just have to say this enigne is truly awsome. ALOT better than my Picco 5TR team ceramic. Just as fast as a REDS 5port V2, but better on fuel and smoother to drive. On this track i "only" could manage abaout 9:30 of runtime, as i used a Novarossi 2096 for the first day of quals. A seriously stupid dession.... Well, i did get help destroing my 2090 the 3rd tank when someone punted me very hard throwing 140 bucks out the window:-(

I got a new pipe, putting it in for the semi practice and my engines was a tad fat on LSN and HSn as my engine was at 89 degrees celsius, still making 9:15. I did lean the HSN a bit but not LSN, and this was the right way but not enough.

A friend made over 11 minutes running in semi practice and he made only one pitstop in the semifinale. This engine smooth, altough has more than enough power and has a screeming top end. This is one of the best engines i have ever had!

Some events we have done safe 10 pit stops but most tracks it is just under 10 min runtime so 8.5-9 min stops are the go.

9:55 till dry for me. I need to comfortably find another 30-45 seconds for me to even think about 10's.

If you absolutely need to make 10 mins, try limiting your throttle throw to get extra mileage.
Instead of the carb opening it to the full size of the venturi, try 10-15% less to start and retune (meaning lean) the engine, so it sounds and behaves about the same again on the bench. On the track, you'll notice that you're not going any slower, have a more usable powerband and you're using less fuel.

Is anyone finding it necessary to seal the O.S. Tessmann edition? Carb, Carb Boot, Back plate, etc - using a Silicone sealant of sorts?
If so where and what product are you using?
