That looks pretty neat Rex. Let me know how it works.

Do i have to add the extra shim that was in the package for break in? There was no instructions at all.

I had Rex break my motor in and the shim was still new in the bottom on the box so I would say it's not needed.

It helps ease the break in process. you dont have to use it but it will lower compression on the engine and relieve some stress for initial run in.

Nor-Cal Series

1 Attachment(s)
Well the Nor-Cal series started yesterday. It is the biggest Series in Northern Ca. Im proud to say the Argus had a pretty good day.All of us running truggy. I myself with Elec glitches couldnt do any better than 4th in the C. But my other 2 buddys, one staright to the A for a 10th place finish, and the other had to come through the B with a 1st and to the A with a 3rd. And as you can see, they had to compete with Ryan and Tyler....... Not bad 2 of the 3 Argusus at the track made the A.

In truggy Im getting 10 mins plus. Ill run a 10 min heat and still have a 1/4 tank left........ I really cant think of a engine out there that will get these kind of run times. Out of Curiosity who was the well known driver ?

The one I am currently running is getting 8:30 to 9:00 in a buggy. The first one I had, I was getting over 11 minutes (not sure if I got a lucky motor, I changed something, weather, etc). I have six gallons on the one that easily gets over 10 and four gallons on the newer on that consistently is 830 to 9.

Mileage seems to be good with the Argus motor. I think it gets a little better mileage than most motors. You will hear all kinds of people with all different brand motors get 11-15 minutes runtime. Put that same car/ motor in a really good drivers hands and you will see the runtime drop. I run the same basic stuff as my son, probably a little richer on the tune then him and he gets at least 2 minutes less runtime than me. Why? He's on the gas and getting 1-2 more laps in a qualifier than me. I also go upside down more which uses less fuel:)

I ran the 2081 this weekend and it had great torque at the bottom, but the top derfinately lacked a little IMO, compared to the 2057. Motor ran great though once again. Pitted at 10 min in truggy and the track was big and fast. Thinking about getting one for my buggy too:nod:

I've found the same and run time was a little more compared to my 2035 but not enough to warrant a change to it going to try my 2039 on it and see what happens with this one...

Looking forward to breaking in my two new Argus Engines. Hope to be running it in the St-RR this weekend. Pumped to have some new power in the cars. Will report how the break in goes.

The 2035 is the kind of pipe that will work good on just about any engine, but optimum for none.

The 2039 though, I think will be a good pipe for this motor. Let us know how it works out.
