I am in the process of going from 30% to 25% nitro. Is removing .1mm shim standard across Argus motors when doing this (I run the R8 and R83)?

I would recommend it and it would be the same with all models. It will still run ok but best to remove the shim. Argus and Alpha engines come with more piston to head clearance than a Nova or some other brands.

I am going to restructure my Argus team a bit for 2016. I am basically going to have a A and B team. I am looking for around 10 guys or so for my A team. They must have a good resume and be a fast guy in there region. The A team will get an exceptional deal on engines and modifying. (Argus engines only)
Anyone on the team already is still on the B team and can apply for the A team.
Also I am going to restructure my B team prices and the prices are less than in the past. I am looking for a bunch of guys for the B team.

Send any resume's or questions to [email protected]

I finished 2nd at the Croatian 1:8 IC buggy nationals with my RW modded Argus R8, with the fastest lap of the race :) The engine had lots of power and it was very smooth. I paired it with an Argus EFRA 2090 pipe and used the 7mm carb insert. Now it's time for nitro winter hibernation, can't wait for 2016! :tire:

Yes the 0801 pipe, the 2090 would be good but smoother.

Sorry I didnt see this, the U shape header is smoother and more top end. The 7.5 tip is best tip is best to start with.

I turn 50 this month and you get the present, $50.00 off most Argus race engines! As low as $145.00 for the A5.

thanks for the answer i test it all the stingers and manifolds and i like better the u shape manifold and 7.5 stinger.now i purchased a set of venturis to try.i want better fuel mileage untill now i used 8m venturi now i will test 7mm.one question now with 7mm venturi i can lean the needles more???or leave it as it is and still i will get better fuel miliage??
also i am thinking to get a new engine like argus r83 or alpha dragon or rc concepts mc3 ceramic.any thoughts about this engines how they compared to my argus a5 5 ports engine?i like my argus very much but the power is not very smooth and fuel mileage not good but it has great power!!

You will have to retune the engine when changing. Definitely try the 7mm, it's the best in my opinion on the Argus engines. Argus R83 is very similar to the Alpha Dragon which are awesome engines, and for the R83 price this month you really can't go wrong :)

A good balance of the needles is important for mileage. The 7mm reducer will help. Most people that have trouble with mileage do not run the engine hot enough, you should run it 120 degrees celsius or even more.
