I have a Alpha lutz worlds and I am happy with the performance. I thought of buying an Argus R8 for next season but now I am confused if I should buy tve R83 too. When do the R83 outshine the R8? What type of powerband/milage and so on will differ between the two?
Thanks Adrian, Sweden |

The R83 feels a bit smoother with more top end. Still has plenty of rip on the bottom, probably still strong enough for a truggy. Mileage is about the same.

$50.00 off most Argus engines is until the end of February.
The Rw Mods shop will be closed from Feb. 28- March 9th. Rex |
Has anyone had a chance to run the R83 in GT onroad. Since it's a 3 port is meets ROAR regs. How would the R83 perform modded?
|
Yesterday I ran my R8, I remove the .2 shim, the power was notable. Now it has only the .2 and .1 shim, and the engine screams like a beast. I like how runs the engine, I'm using the P3 plug and 2081 pipe. Next Sunday I'm going to test the 2090 pipe to see how it works. Thanks to the boss (REX) for all the tips.

If you can modify an R83 like the R8 to open it up, I am sure I would be happy. I bought 2 R8's last year. One modded and one not modded. The power difference is very notable in my opinion. The non modded one does well in buggy and I run the modded one in Truggy. Just sucks I am overseas with the Army right now and missing the spring races. Should be home in August so I have some time. Just want to have all fresh stuff ready when I get home. What pipe do you recommend? I want good strong bottom end but still good top end. GT is not typical onroad since you are basically running a modified buggy for onroad so its heavy. You want the bottom end to accelerate but still want the top end for the straight away in second gear. Just wish ROAR would allow a 5+2 like the picco is. Rex, any chance on sending ROAR a motor to get certified for GT?

I think the 0801 pipe would work the best. The factory would have to be the one to send the engine in for approval.
