Just got hold of a secondhand one of these motors for my truggy and so looking forward to getting this thing running and showing what this these motors are like going to run a 0801 pipe on it first and see what i think but have a 2035 to bolt on if i don't like it....

Best mileage thus far is 10:30 in buggy and 12:10 in truggy. Both with 2041's on Werks fuel. Tamiya buggy and truggy.

That's good run time there i'm hoping to get a better indication on runtime next weekend but still think i could be better if i can stop all the wheel spin i've been getting....

Was the Argus .23 thing just a shot in the dark, or is there really something to it?...

I am looking for a good overall pipe for my tamiya's also. What performance traits does the 2041 pipe give?

Has anybody run a JP-4 with the Argus yet? The JP-4 is sold with the Argus as the combo from a shop in the UK.. Just wondering if this is a good pipe for it.. I'm looking for top-end more than anything else..

I currently run the JP-4 on my Argus. In my truggy I had to go up a tooth on the clutchbell to calm down the bottom end. This gave me more top end, but hardly sacrificed any bottom end.
I can also easily get 10mins runtime. Give it a run and see.

On 6/5/11 Jonathan Jenkins and Don Elliott took their Argus powered ZCar Z10xb buggies the the Amain in expert buggy at Nitro Valley Raceway. Don took the win and Jonathan got the 3rd place spot.

**Don Elliott's Argus Engine has now hit the 9 gallon mark with NO rebuild. Only the front bearing has been replaced!

I was getting 12:30 run time considently in my ZMXT-8 (Z-truggy) with an Argus, JP-3, 25% byrons, and a P-3 plug at the "Asylum" Waverly FL all winter long.

i have just switch over to the 2081 on the truck and i am just starting to run the "Argus" in my buggy. so not sure what run times in the buggy or with the 2081 are going to be. Have big 3 day race this weekend, so i will know for sure what they are on Monday, will post then.

In truggy at Revelation a stock one will go 10:30 Our mod so far has been pushing past 12 minutes.

BUt remember a lot of mileage is driving style throttle control, traction, tires etc..... The engine has to be able to pull it off but a lot of it is also driver.

Argus A52 had a great debut at our local club day. TQ and win in truggy, and win in buggy!!! The argus mowed down the competition on the straights:nod:
The comments from the other brand engine owners was they were amazed by how much top end speed we had

Hey, what pipe and plug are being used for this great top end?

ArgusNZ 06-13-2011 01:13 AM

I am using the go 2072 pipe and Odonnell 97t plug in my truggy. We are using the 0801 on buggy.
