That is a cool move Mr. Jenkins. Argus USA has a great engine on their hands in the price range they fit in. Great value and great service....really nice combination.

Looking forward to running my Argus this weekend at the JConcept Race in Omaha, Neb. Switching over to the buggy this weekend after having it in the truggy. Hope that buggy can handle it.....:sneaky:

Will do Rex. I met him at the Futaba Race in St. Louis last year. Looking forward to running this weekend and to have three days away from "real" life.

this engine sounds like it would be good to eat.

argus yyuuummmm

Well I just hit the 5 gallon mark today. This thing is still running strong. Not a single problem with anything. This is the best bang for the buck engine your gonna find......;)

After all the wavering, Alpha, Go, Werks, bla bla.., I just bought an Argus, and mine's even bangier!! :p Got one on auction for dirt cheap.. - about 2/3 of the normal new price..

Tentatively planning to run a 2063 pipe, OS P4 - P3 for break-in maybe - also have Odonnell 97T's after the OS are out, Tornado %25, Ascendancy clutch 34mm, probably in my Ofna DM-1, or maybe a new buggy if I can get my SC8 sold.. Outside chance I'll have to accept never being able to sell the SC8 so I'd run it in that at some point..

My main concern is pinch, and being able to preheat. I don't go too often to the local track where I have electricity, where at best I could take a hair drier. I'll try to get the first five tanks/10 heat cycles or so preheated, but after that I just won't be able to if I'm out in a park somewhere..

I think you should be fine after about 5 tanks. The 2 engines we tested were nowhere near as tight as some other brands, we found after about tank 9 they were ready to rock.

Got to have a run with mine on the weekend, removed the run in shim at tank 14, managed 10min20 in my losi truggy with go2072 pipe, 25% nitro, odonnell 97t plug,

I just wish i had found these motors earlier! the hard part is getting others to give them a try. We signed our first team driver so hopefully when people see just how good they are they will make the jump:sneaky:

I lost the screw that tightens the carb. Which screw is it and where can I order from?

Thx

Most of the screws that tighten the carb are the same with different motors, your local hs might have something.

On May 14,2011, team driver, Lance Heidman took his Argus powered Hot Bodies truggy to a 3rd place finish at the Agama Challenge race in Ontario California. Way to go Lance! Lance is also the owner of www.rcrenew.com

Just an FYI - If you switch from OS plugs to Odonnell plugs, you are going to run the risk of having a leak out of your button head after you make the switch. OS and Odonnell plugs have very different thread patterns and I've seen many people (including me) have a compression problem once they've switched from OS to OD plugs. Funny thing is, if you use OD plugs first and then switch to OS plugs, there is never a problem. The compression problem only happens when people use OS plugs first, then switch to OD plugs. Ed Bridges of EBMods has confirmed this for me, so it's not just hear-say.
