I hear you but I wasnt asking for someone to "tune my engine over the internet" per say, just was looking for what the factory settings were just for my own knowledge or if I got out of wack I would be able to go there turn my needles back in some and be right back in on the rich side to continue to get to a good tune for any where I might be without going through a bunch of headaches. There are a couple of people who stay in a round about general area and there settings are somewhat close but I leave far away and my settings are somewhat far from there's. As far as tuning goes my engine has not giving me any problems at all.
Imrob glad to hear you got your camera situation figured out. I got a chance to go to a track in Virginia about 2 hrs from me for some practice runs and this .23 did not disappoint me 1 bit. Now my truck is another story lets just say the engine is way more reliable and durable for that matter then the truck it was pulling all around the track like a rag doll while running really rich, temps didn't even get above *227 all day but it was strong so I left it as is because I didnt think the truck or me would be able to handle more than what it was already giving. I got some video but be warned the driving wasnt pretty
you'll understand what I mean at the end.

Definitely run a softer clutch setup or yours may be slipping.

For crying out loud I just tried to you tub a video with an mp4 file I think it I got over 2 million minutes to go for an 11 minute video. What am I doing wrong. You seem to be able to get them working. Lilichill and rex. I got it on face book no problem from my phone but I cant get that to work with you tube.

i don't think the engine is too much for you to handle. If i remember correctly you don't get to a track much. If you can learn some finger control this will help you with that really quick. you will learn to roll not pull. From your video it seem like you car is stiff as board and has a lot of nose down attitude on the jumps. i would try to run a softer setup in the rear it might help. If that make it better good if not you might be too soft. or to much pack don't know to hard to tell with my pc buffer like ever 3 seconds. got a new one in the works soon or at least im trying to convince the other half for one lol. I think if you got a good setup for that track and an off power setup you might be good. it seem like a very tight track. i would also go with a soft clutch setup which i think you said you had before. i am not trying to be mean just helpful. sometime i run into troubles myself. i have a buggy im trying to figure out now and that video not all that great neither as for how it ran it looks like it was running it was rich. still see a big cloud of smoke. I cant hear the engine in the video i would have to crank my pc to up to about 98db. so i cant say nothing there. I would just say hang and be gentle you will get it. i was real bad when i was learning too. I think i do have a video of some older driving some where and trust it not pretty lol. I will post one soon which reminds me i got to go fix my youtube.
Hsn=.22mm out from flush
Lsn=1.69mm in from flush
Idle=3.87mm from screw head to carb body
These are the settings I arrived at after the day at the track in the video in which I was richer.

Got to run my R8 in the Truggy this last weekend. It finally came in the rest of the way in the middle of the second heat. Got it tuned, and ran it the next morning before the main. It felt AMAZING!! Plenty of torque and power. This was confirmed when I pulled a buggy down the straight and the guy on the stand said "what the hell is in that!" Great feeling to have.
Due to the "rocket round" style and the engine finishing coming in, I was toward the back of the B main. I was running 4th and had the top 3 in sight when a transponder issue ended my day. But man, I LOVE this motor! My best Argus comparison is my old D52 I used to run in my buggy. The R8 was very similar to its characteristics in the buggy, but in truck. For me, it was very snappy (without being lean) on the bottom, and screamed down the straight (smoke all the way). Paired with the 0801 pipe. Very happy and cannot wait to get it on the track again.

Will try that I had the stock medium springs on but I do have some soft pulled the clutch apart yesterday and it is time for new shoes so I'll try these changes.

I appreciate the encouragement. No harm in helping anyone. As far as you getting a new pc its like the saying goes "happy wife happy life" lol. Im running the Tamiya 801xt which is sort of outdated but was cheap enough to get me started just get the basics of truggy learned, I'm trying to convince the other half about the mbx7t or agama a8t within the next week or so. But I have got the green light on making time to make the trips to get alot more track time so thats a plus. Just for sake of info I took measurements of my settings and they are
Hsn=.22mm out from flush
Lsn=1.69mm in from flush
Idle=3.87mm from screw head to carb body

I actually used my phones camera for the video and uploaded to youtube from the camera app. I think you said you used your go pro. You might have already tried this but here goes. If you already have a youtube account log in from your comp. click upload it should take you to a screen asking what file you want to upload navigate to where you have your mp4 file click it it'll appear in the box that says file name at the bottom of the screen, then click open it should start uploading but it may take awhile once its uploaded to youtube you can copy and paste the link here if you want. Hope that helps

I usually do my video's with my digital camera, it does Hd at 1080 but I shoot at like 480 or so or it would take forever to upload. The video of Kendall with the mod R8 at Lrt raceway was with his Ipod touch.

Will for that matter we all seem to be around the same setting it just seem the low is off. I think mine was like 1.43 in some had like 1.50 in and now your 1.67 I think once you lean out the lsn. In the next couple of races we all might be about the same. Wait for this to drop it nuts it will smooth out and give great controllable power. I like this better than the 21 for truggy it got that xtra ump when needed. If I can ever get the video posted. I had a spot where that extra ump saved me. I had lapped traffic the fellow me and the first place guy past he came off the table top and hit me as I was landing. Took my back end right up. I almost flipped over but I just pulled the gas and drove on my front tires a little bit it was really cool. That is the one i been trying to get posted for ever.

It seems we are fairly close. It gets really humid over here and a typical *80 day actually feels like *90 do to the humidity, I believe thats why my lsn is a tad leaner. Your right this .23 is definitely proving its worth. I know that was a sight to see the power you had with just front wheel drive lol. Like Rex said if you can trim the video it'll be less time uploading.
back to the .23 it get humid here to but it more like a 20 degree jump. When it get humid the moister in the air takes up space. In which it does make you have to re tune. If I am correct you actually have to lean it out more. But that is the tricky thing I guess I just go by how it running down the straight and do I have a nice take off. Driving tell me how to tune. Some guy can hear just find. But me I have to put it on the track. I think I have a video of my break in stage probably looks like you video to.

A5 finally at home in the Tekno NB48. It took some extra effort because the shaft is shorter then the Reds that was in there before. So spacers were needed to move the flywheel forward for the clutch bell to match up with the spur gear correctly.
A couple more tanks and tuning and the motor will be 100% ready to rip.
Thanks to Rex and RW Mods for the engine lapping and a great motor!
