I was hoping to get a definitive answer & not pull apart my R8 & k3 to check if the rods are interchangeable.
I remember vaguely reading that all Argus 21 engine connecting rods are interchangeable but not sure if that’s accurate.
I’m aware of the K3 being somewhat identical with the D3 but not sure if the D3 rod alone can be replaced and still keep the k3 P/S.
I’ll do some more searching and send Lutz a msg for some guidance.

no prob yea I’m not sure about the Argus engine you said, I’ve heard like the newer alphas like dragons the rod you can use the newer ones and are inner changeable but I’ve never done it so I’m not sure for certain. But yea figured I’d just say the info I’ve heard. If anyone would know Rex rw mod would know and unfortunately he passed away the other day. RIP But yea maybe lutz would know or would know if d4 rod would fit. Good luck

Anyone that’s fitted a .23 sleeve & piston in a .21 crankcase can you please confirm that it’s a direct drop in?
I remember reading a discussion that the 21 & 23 cases are the same but can’t seem to find where I read it.
My R8 has finally given up its pinch at aprox 40lts through it
